I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.



This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

7.9.12

Colossians 3:14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

My Thoughts
I love this... if you think about it... you have to make an effort to put your clothes on... you have to decide which ones you want to ware...then you have to get busy getting dressed. When you want to be your best you plan your outfit...every part of it.  If you are not dressed and emergency comes up you run and grab the first thing you can find...and are not really put together very well.. but if you have something important happening you make sure to look you best.

It takes an effort... a decision on our part to put on love. We have to make the plan...we have to lay those clothes out!!... Be ready.  We have to know what love is to clothes ourselves in love.  It takes our best effort to be loving.  It is what God ask us to do!! 

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 tells us exactly what love it... it says: 4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 

If we want to clothe ourselves in love we need to study, pray, make plans to be these thing.  Love its not a feeling... love is an action.   We must make the effort to be loving to others.. all others!!
