I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

10.31.10

Hebrews 2:18 Since Jesus himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.

My Thoughts
This is a wonderful thing to know... to truly know in your heart... not just a verse to be heard and memorized ... but a wonderful think to know.  We all have those moments when we think that nobody understands us... and in those moments we are so vulnerable because we can feel alone and desperate... this times are such a good time for the devil to sneak in and take control of our thoughts.. but if we know this verse, truly understand that Jesus himself knows our suffering and testing, he understand completely our feeling... and he knows exactly how to help us... all we have to do is ask him... then listen and act on what he tells us... Jesus knows... he walked on this earth as a human, he feels our pain and suffering no matter how small we think it seems to people... it is important to God, God cares about the details of our lives... so remember Jesus knows.... we never have to feel all alone in our thoughts and fears and struggles, Jesus knows.... we can talk to Jesus about all our thoughts and our feeling, Jesus will understand and help us to overcome!

10.30.10

Matthew 7:7-8 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened."

My Thoughts
The reason we need to ask, the reason we have to seek... the reason we have to knock is because God gave us free will.... so many times we just go about our day and never take the time for God... have you ever had a friend that didn't have time for you??... we eventually give up on those people... our thoughts eventually come to the point "If they don't have time for me I will just move on spend time with the people that do have time for me."... we don't want to beg for some body's time and attention... God gives us free will because he wants us to love him because we want to love him, not because we have to love him!... God want to do for us and take care of us... but we have to ask.  Did you ask God to be a part of your day today?.. have you ever thought that God didn't take care of one of your needs, I have.... did you ask him to?... looking back I know that I didn't!... God is just waiting ... he is watching, looking down on us wanting to help us so so bad, but if we have not spent time with him... if we have not made time for God, he is not sure we want his help... when we feel God is not present in our lives we need to stop and question our actions... we need to stop and say "God I am sorry I have not made time for you... I love you and I want you here helping me." God will never, ever abandon us, he is walking right beside us all the time the only thing holding God back is our willingness to make him a part of all that we do.

10.29.10

Proverbs 26:20 A fire goes our without wood, and quarrels disappear when gossip stops.

My Thoughts
Oh this made me think of the work place... or the ball field .... any place where people are spending lots of time together... our conversation seems to go in the direction of talking about what people are doing wrong... and then that information spreads and the story gets bigger!... and somebody gets mad and/or hurt... it is terrible, always!  Just think if we made an effort for one week that the only thing that is going to come out of our mouth is conversation about ideas, and plans to improve on what we do... what if when we opened our mouth about another person it was to praise them to spread information about something good they had done or something sweet they had done... what a wonderful atmosfear that would create... what if people went about finding the good in people... if we made an effort to do that it would not only change the people around us it would change how we feel about ourselves... we would not worry about what we said.. we wouldn't have to hope that so-in-so didn't tell so-in-so what I said ... and if people were seeking out the good in people we would try to do even better so that people would have something wonderful to say about us... sound like the dream job!...  or the dream ball field!!... it is not impossible it can start with me or with you!!... you can at least be the person that goes home from work without worry about what you have said about another person... you and I can honor God by letting only good things, dreams and ideas be what comes from our mouth.... we can be the place gossip stops if it lands on our ears and the place where prayer starts if we hear something bad about somebody else... we need to be the change that we want to see happen in the world.

10.28.10

Psalms 100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise.  Give thanks to him and praise his name.

My Thoughts
I have heard this verse all my life, here and there... but now after my journey through the Bible I was very aware when I read it that I should always be thankful...I should be in a constant act of praise if death decided to take me I want to enter heaven with thanksgiving and praise.... I need for praise and thanksgiving to be my constant thoughts and words... if I live my life with these being constant on my mind I will enter heaven the way that will make God happy.  When we dwell on the good in our lives it is a way to be thankful.. it is a way to show God that we know what he has done for us!... When we spend our time worrying and complaining we are saying that God didn't take care of us and that we don't trust him to take care of is... in a way it is giving the devil praise... I want to live my life where anytime God takes me I am being thankful and in praise of him.... this will take practice.... I will have to be constantly aware... but I am going to work on this for sure!

10.27.10

Titus 2:14 He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

My Thoughts
Here is something think about... think if you were stuck standing on a railroad track and a train was comming... your best friend in the world was standing there with you, watching and said "Promise me one thing?!"... and you said 'Okay what??"... "Promise me that you will visit my mom every Friday" then your friend push you off the tracks and died in your place... you would visit your firends mom every Friday!!... you would never forget to visit... Well Jesus died in our place just as if a train was comming down the track... and all Jesus ask is that we go about doing good deeds, go about loving our neighbor as we love ourselves... Jesus ask that we love God with our our heart and soul...that is all that Jesus asked for dieing in our place.... we need to make our biggert effort every day to do good, to love everybody and to love God enough to spend time with him each and every day...time learning about what he wants from us... time talking to God and listening to God talk to us... that is not much if you think that Jesus pushed us off that cross and died in your place and in mine!

10.26.10

Titus 1:15-16a Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. but nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted. Such people claim they know God but deny him by the way they live.

My Thoughts
Have you ever noticed that when you are not doing the things you are suppose to do that you see the bad in others... I have done this when my life was all out of sorts... it made me feel better to know that some-body's life was worse than mine... if my house is not clean it makes me feel better if somebody else's house is not clean... and so on.  On the other hand when I am doing all that I can to do what is good and what is right I can only see the good in people... when I am being sweet, and good and kind, I think everybody is sweet and good and kind... when we start seeing the bad in others we need to recognize that as a red flag about our own lives and stop and examine what we are doing wrong in our lives.  I never realized when I do bad that I am denying God... I could know it was not good but I never thought of my actions as denying God... I have thought "How could Peter, Peter who walked with Jesus, deny him?" But I myself have done that in my actions...and God walks right beside me all the time... the Bible tells me so.... I have lived in a way where people would question if I knew God.... now that I have read this verse I will be keenly aware that I can deny God with my actions and my words... My actions, the things I do and say need to say "I am proud to be a child of the Most High God"... what do your actions say?

10.25.10

Jeremiah 48:7 Because you have trusted in your wealth and skill, you will be taken captive.

My Thoughts
Have you ever worked really hard at something just to have somebody else come along and take the credit!!... That is an awful feeling isn't it!!  That is just what we do to God when we put our faith in things instead of putting our faith in God.... Everything we have is a gift from God... I have heard people say, as I cringe "Why should I thank God for that?? I worked for it!"... our ability to work hard, to do a job well comes from God.... we often recognize that a person with a beautiful voice has a gift that is from God... or that a painter that paints beautiful pictures has a gift from God.... we need to stop and notice the gifts from God that we have in our lives... the ability we have in our lives and give God the credit... The things I know about me are that I am sweet... that is a gift from God... I didn't know it for a long time.. but once I figured it out I could see that being sweet is a gift. Not everybody is sweet... I can make pretty cards... that too is a gift from God... God gives me the ability to see the cuts that I put together in a different way than a lot of other people see them and that makes me able to create a little bit of "art"... and now I can knit on my Knifty Knitters... and I understand more each day how the stitches work and how to use those stitches in different ways to create different things...I prayed for this gift... when I picked up my looms I said "God will you please help me to understand this and be good at it."  and God helps me more every day... I was even able to sell one!!... I know that was a gift from God!... My husband, Robby has the ability to go to work every day at UPS from sun up to sun down... he has been at this for more than 30 years now... God gave him that endurance, that ability to keep going... the healthy body to lift those boxes...God gave Robby the ability to provide for his family... and the willing spirit to do so day in and day out... that is a gift from God... Today when we are able to pay our bills, when we are able to buy something knew.. when we are able to make or do something that enhances our lives, lets remember that we need to trust in God and thank God for these things... we don not need to take the credit for all that God has done for us.  We need to remember that when we accomplish something that we like to get the credit... when God accomplishes something through us God likes to get the credit...Today will you thank God for all that you have and all that you can do?... Will you put your trust where it belongs and tell God today... Dear God I trust in you to provide for me and my family... I trust in you to supply all my needs both physically and mentally and spiritually... I thank you God for my skills and my wealth  because I know that these things are a gift from you.... today lets make God smile down on us by letting God know that we know that all we have is because he made sure that we had!

10.24.10

2 Timothy 2:24-25 A servant of the Lord must not start fights.  A servant of the Lord mus not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.  Gently instruct  those who oppose the truth.  Perhaps God will changes those people's hearts, and the will learn the truth.

My Thought
If we do our best to be like Jesus... to do what Jesus would do ... People will see God in our lives... they will see the difference God has made in our life... they will want what we have... the best way to make people want what we have is to be what love is.. and the Bible tell us that "Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8... God is love... and the Bible tells us this is what love is... if we are these thing to all people it will change the lives around us.

10.23.10

2 Timothy 2:20-21 In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay.  The expensive utensils are used for special occasions.  If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use.  Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for God to use you for every good work.

My Thoughts
Oh we all want to be special to somebody!!... and all of us could be special to God.. we can be his pride and joy... we can be the person God wants to use when he wants to show off... how exciting is that!!... God gives us free will and with our free will we can make the decision to keep our life pure and clean and ready for God to use.... if we do this.. if we stay pure and clean for God when God wants to show off he will use us we will be his something special!!... This verse just makes me happy!

10.22.10

2 Timothy 1:6-7 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.  For God has not give us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

My Thoughts
I have learned so much in this year thought the Bible... I have heard often God does not give us a spirit of fear misused.... one time it was used in such a way by somebody trying to straighten our my life (which was not bad), by a "Christian" that it kept me out of church for years... so when I ran into this verse in context today during my Bible reading I was so excited to see what it really meant... because I knew there are things we need to be afraid of... like standing in the middle of the road... or a bear in the woods... fear is a gift in lots of situations... but we should never ever be afraid to share the love of God... to use the gifts he has given us so let people know how much God loves them..... when we feel we should tell somebody about God... he give us the power and love to do so... he puts that nudge in our hearts when it need be done and he supplies us with the words and spirit at the right time when somebody needs it most... when Jonah went to Nineveh he spoke like 8 words to the people that is all and their hearts were open!!... They heard all they needed to hear to change their lives... God will give us our 8 words or our 50 word... but we should never, ever be afraid to share with people how much God loves them.

10.21.10

1 Timothy 6:17-19  Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable.  Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others.  By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

My Thoughts
In the past couple of years we have learned that we can't always rely on our money... and we shouldn't... In America so many of us are "rich".... a huge percentage of us have more than what we need.... most of us in fact, in America, have more than what we need... yet we go around talking about what we don't have... what a slap in the face that is to God.... we don't just live in a house... we live in houses that are very nice... and have more rooms than we really need... with nice furniture... we have so much that storage buildings are popping up everywhere to hold our "stuff"... yet we complain... we shop for clothes as a past time in America... all these things are wonderful to have, they are gifts from God... and we need to stop and be thankful for these gifts, not complain that God has not given us more... and instead of storing up treasures in a storage building that we have to pay for we need to be aware of the people around us in need... we need to be aware of the people that don't have enough clothes... or always enough food... we need to take care of these people... and quit taking care of our excessive desires that are so unimportant to us that we end up selling them in a yard sell... God loves to shower us with gifts.. just like we love to give our own children gifts... but just like we like to see our children share, God likes to see us share.... just like it hurts us when our children act like we have not done enough for them... it hurts God when we say that we don't have enough!... I read somewhere recently that "Our faith becomes effective when we acknowledge the good." ... today as we go about our day lets remember to be thankful to God for what we have... lets not let ourselves complain once because we don't have an outfit or toy we "want"... and if we find ourselves thinking for even a second that we don't have enough...lets stop the devil in his tracks and look up to God and list ten things that he has given us that we are thankful for... lets take time to acknowledge the good that God has done for us!

10.20.10

1 Timothy 5:24-25 Remember, the sins of some people are obvious, leading them to certain judgement.  But there are others whose sins will not be revealed until later.. In the same way, the good deeds of some people are obvious. And the good deeds done in secret will someday come to light.

My Thoughts
What do you want to come to light in your future good or bad?... it is a choice.

10.19.10

1 Timothy 4:16 Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right and for the sake of your own salvation and for the salvation of those who hear you.

My Thoughts
This is so important!... How we live does effect those around us and we need to be constantly aware of that fact... you may never utter a word to somebody about how important it is to follow God... but you can be a great witness by how you live... Jesus said that we should love God with all our heart and soul and mind and that we should love our neighbor as our self (Luke 10:27).  To show others that God lives within us we need to be sweet and kind and loving... and follow all that God teaches us... and God teaches that "Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends (1 Corinthians 13:4-8). If we are hateful and demanding... if we always bring up something some body's past wrongs... even if we are not hopeful.. if we with hold our love we are not being true to what is right... we need to go about our day being what love is not only for our own salvation but for the salvation of those around us... I heard somebody say that we shouldn't just act like a Christian we should also react like a Christian... I worked this lady once that talked about being a Christian... and she could pray like nobodies business... but how she treated people when she was in a bad mood was awful!... I wasn't going to church at the time...and she made me not want to go to church ever... we need to be the kind of Christian that makes people want what we have... Not the kind of person that makes people want to run the other way... We should never have to tell somebody that we are a Christian they should see it in our actions!

10.18.10

Jeremiah 31:33 "But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Isreal on that day." says the Lord. "I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their heearts.  I will be their God, and they will be my people."

My Thougts
God tells us right here that his instructions are written on our heart... to follow God one thing we can do is follow our heart... our body tells us when we do something wrong, or are about to do something we shouldn't ... we need to listen to our bodies... this is a good step towards doing what God ask of us... if you body tells you no, listen... that is God's word nudging you to do the right thing.

10.17.10

1 Timothy 2:8 In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy.

My Thoughts
I love a church like this!!... Church should be a place of worship... a place so filled with the love of God there is no anger... and no controversy... we should all conduct ourselves in a way that makes each and every person feel love when the walk through the doors of the church we attend... just think what a joyous place church could be if we all made sure we were filled with the love of God before we walked in the door to worship... we need to each take the responsibility of making people welcome in our personal place of worship... I myself plan to take that step and be one of the people with their arms stretched out.... and a face that says I am so happy you are here!!.. to regular attenders and new people to the people that don't get the opportunity to be at church much.... if we each took on the responsibility to make sure that our presence at church was our hands lifted up to God, that we were free from anger and controversy...and each try our best to spread the love of God to others churches all over the country would have to build on to their buildings!!... What an amazing movement that would be!!

10.16.10

1 Timothy 1:5 The purpose of my instructions is that all believers would be filled with love that comes form a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.

My Thoughts
Do you ever just wake up feeling angry?… or do you ever feel like there are just people that you can’t love…. Do you ever just hate the world?… we all have those moments, because we are human…. But to get over those moments we need to search our hearts… confess of our sins and ask forgiveness, we need to forgive others…. We need to practice our faith… our faith is only genuine when we put it into practice…. If we do the things that God ask of us we can be filled with such love for everything and everybody… God made the world and all its people we need to be filled with love for his creations… loving everybody, no matter…. Loving all things is a wonderful way to worship God… hate and anger is a form of worship of the devil… so when you feel angry, or stressed… when we feel anger or stress… when we wake up and hate the world or the day or all the people around us… that is warning that we need to stop and get right with God… to forgive and to ask forgiveness for our sins… God will fill us with love… and life is so much better with love in our hearts!

10.15.10

Psalm 85:1 Lord, you poured out blessings on your land! You restored the fortunes of  Israel.  You forgave the guilt of your people-- yes, you covered all their sins.

My Thoughts
God will do this for the US too if  we just turn to him... walk with him... intercede in prayer for others... God will restore our land if his people, Christians remember to follow God and  not man... he will prosper us again, he will restore us again... we need to walk with God ... and ask God specifically for the things we want for our great country.

10.14.10

Ezekiel 36:27 "And I will put my Spirit in you and mover you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my law."

My Thoughts
God gave us the Holy Spirit in us to remind us... to nudge us to do what he wants us to do... we feel it all the time... we need to be very aware if it and and stop and take time to listen.... if we listen to the Spirit inside of us and act upon that nudging we would never have to say "I should have."

10.13.10

Jeremiah 22:3 This is what the Lord says: Be fair minded and just.  Do what is right! Help those who have been robbed; rescue them from their oppressors. Quit your evil deeds! Do not mistreat foreigners, orphans, and widows.  Stop murdering the innocent.

My Thoughts
Be fair minded and just we need to do this even in the little things... sometimes we think we are fair minded and then we become selfish when no one is watching... something small like giving ourselves the best piece of meat when we fix every body's plate and we hope no one is watching... God sees that.... Help those who have been robbed... how often do we know something has happened to somebody and we stop and say oh how sad then we move on with our day.... we need to move into action.... not just stop and think thought like "well they have insurance"... they have been robbed of so much more and when we reach out with help we are not only helping give back what that person has lost, we are also giving back to them a renewed trust in the human race.... a little bit of their piece of mind.. which is a bigger part of what was taken from them... Quit your evil deeds... this simply means stop doing what you know in your heart is wrong... stop making excuses to make bad choices.... Do not mistreat foreigners, orphans, and widows... God put the foreigners in the category with widows and orphans... be aware of this!!... so many times I hear "those Mexicans" well "those Mexicans" are people that God made and they risk so much to come to a free land and God is not happy when they are paid less, made fun of, mistreated...they are foreigners and God put them in with orphans and widows and we know that God expects us to be good to orphans and widows... God knows what is in our hearts... we need to make sure our hearts are presentable to God.

10.12.10

1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy.  Encourage those who are timid.  Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone.  See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.

My Thoughts
Would not the world be a better place if we just all stopped and did this.... what if we could get everybody, every single person to do these things for just one week... that one week could change the world.. what we can do is be there person that other people see these qualities in and maybe, just maybe we could change the people around us!

10.11.10

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.  Then people who are not Christians will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.

My Thoughts
I love this... have you ever noticed when your hands are busy you can't worry.... when you are thinking about what your hands are doing... you can't worry about what other people are doing or about what you think you should worry about.... I think this is why God gives us things to be good at.... after we are finished earning a living for the day... we can be busy in a way that relaxes our minds and our hearts in a way that keeps us from worry and stress... we can keep busy being productive instead of keeping busy being busybodies.... and if we do what the Bible tells us to do and we stay busy with our hands we stay out of trouble... I have two things that I just love to do with my hands, making cards, and knitting... when I am busy doing those thing I don't have a worry in the world... I don't take time to try and fix other people....and when I stay busy doing those things, even when I have to do something else, I have a card in my head... or I am busy in my head trying to think of a neat way to make another scarf or hat....and I don't worry about anything.... and on top of that I can use the things I have been busy doing to bless other people... God knows how to make us happy, how to bring us joy, how to get us the respect of others... God knows...and God is never wrong.... if we would just take his wonderful book of instructions for our life and use it... we would have peace, joy, happiness, we would prosper ourselves... God said if we would follow him we would have life and have it more abundantly... that means abundant peace, abundant joy, abundant everything... if we do what God ask us to do he will take care of all of our needs, spiritually, emotionally, physically... I am off to keep my hands busy...I hope that you have a wonderful day!

10.10.10

Ezekiel 11:19 "I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh."

My Thoughts
Have you ever just held a grudge against someone.... been so angry or upset at them that you felt you could never forgive them?.... Have you ever gotten to this place with a family member or friend where all you could see was what they were doing wrong.... and you had gotten to a point when you were around them that they didn't cut you any slack and you didn't cut them any..... so you were constantly trying to make a point with them... any point.... you know that place, we have all been there at some time or another with some person or another... you heart was divided... you love that person, wanted them to love you... but you didn't act that way around them.... God can give us an undivided heart... all we have to do is ask and mean it... we can quit that love/hate relationship and feel just the love if we get God on our side... God tells us right hear that he will remove our heart of stone... so if you are struggling with a relationship with someone you love... just ask God to give you and undivided heart.

10.9.10

1 Thessalonians 2:4 For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News.  Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.

My Thoughts
People are always thinking they know the intentions of another person and judging them for what they think that person's intentions are.... and so, so often they are wrong... God always know the intentions of our hearts, no matter what they are.  If we are always trying to do what God ask of us, trying to please God in all that we say and do, God will know... God won't be guessing and God will not get it wrong. This is really exciting if we think about it... how many times have we tried to please a person, just to have them mad at us because they took what we were doing all wrong?  It happens all the time.. if we spend our time trying to please God, we will be being kind to others and doing what is right and if somebody takes it wrong we can know that God knows our heart.  Even if all is not right with the person we were being nice to all will be right with God.... you know if we go about pleasing God it really can make our life easier by reducing the decisions we make.... if you first question is "What would God want me to do in this situation?"  So often this would narrow down our decision to just one option... or maybe two.... we can never go wrong pleasing God.

Colossians 3:23-24 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.  Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as you reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

My Thoughts
We have all had one of those bosses that were hard to work for... hard to please... or don't notice what we do... we should not get discouraged.... we are always working for God and God always notices us... God knows when we do our best... God wants us never to give up and lose hope.... and whether we are noticed or not by management God notices us... and He even sets up a reward for us in heaven when we do what we are suppose to do.... this verse should be very encouraging... it is wonderful to know that God knows how hard we have worked even if nobody else does.

10.7.10

Colossians 4:12-14 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you and you must forgive others. Above all clothe yourselves with love which binds us all together in perfect harmony. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace and always be thankful.

My Thoughts
Doing this… would change the world… be the change you want to see in the world… be the change that God wants to see in the world…. It all starts with a single person.

10.6.10

Proverbs 24:26..An honest answer is like a kiss of a friendship.

My Thoughts
I consider myself an honest person… I do my very, very best to keep my word… I don’t lie about people….I tell things on myself that lots of people would hide even ….I will go back into the store to give even a nickel back if somebody gives me too much money… and the list could go on… I think of myself as an honest person… this verse made me mindful of the “but,”…. but, I was brought up to be sweet and kind and I often say I agree with a person when I don’t… not to be dishonest but to be sweet and kind…. I am the honest person that you can say “does this look good on me…and if it doesn’t I will very sweetly say “oh, I would get the other pair of jeans.”… I am more taking about…mmmm … how do I put this into words….. Say at work… you are having a conversation with the boss… or with another employee… and they have a totally different view than me on a subject or person… I will agree to keep peace… or just not to be un-agreeable … the thing is I can see their side or why they choose to believe the way they do… so I just stand there and look like I agree… or I verbally agree with the part where I understand the why… but, just because I understand the why doesn’t mean I agree with why the see something the way they do… of feel the way they do about something or somebody…. But to be sweet and kind, I agree… this verse makes me understand that that is not, in kindness even, what I should do… after all what if my opinion could make that person see something in a different way or what if I share my opinion and they make me see something in a different was… that could be a good thing…. I get afraid that people will see me as not sweet if I disagree… and after all I want them to “like” me… I think what I do could be called the “sin of approval” … I am going to go forward and risk stepping on a toe or two by being honest when I disagree and if a debate occurs then maybe I will learn something or that person will learn something from me… either way I need to be honest so that people can know the “real” me… so that that person will know where I stand on an issue or an idea…. they may even be more likely to choose me to be their friend ….. either way… God ask me to be honest so how could I go wrong.

10.5.10

Isaiah 30:21 “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, you ears will hear my voice behind you , saying, ‘this is the way; walk in it.’”

My Thoughts
So often we ponder over what we are going to say to somebody… how we are going to handle a situation… and we worry ourselves to death about what decision we are going to make… God tells us right here that when we walk with him he will guide our steps… even when we don’t ask what to do God prompts us … lets our insides know that we are not making the right decision and we just don’t listen…. God does not make mistakes… just think how much better our lives would be if we always, always stopped and listened to God’s voice, oh how much better our lives would turn out!… today listen to God beside you… when you have to make a decision ask God what to do… and do it… don’t doubt what God tells you… when you feel God’s nudging that you are about to do something wrong, stop… don’t do what you were about to do… then see how you feel at the end of the day… see if you sleep better… it is always better… always right…always good to put our words, our decisions, our relationships our lives into God’s hand… God doesn’t make mistakes.

10.4.10

Colossians 1:11-12 We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy.

My Thoughts
Paul knew that Gods power would give his people endurance and patience and joy… and this was Paul’s prayer for the followers of God…. Paul knew that God’s power would produce endurance and patience and joy…God gives us strength to do anything he ask of us… God gives us patience and joy… when we feel we can’t take another step… and can’t wait another minute all we have to do is call out to God… and if we feel we still can’t wait… or still can endure…then we need to ask God to show us the sin that is separating us for God… ask forgiveness for that sin …and relax and know that God is in control … we need to know that God will take care of us… he will give us the strength to endure… he will give us the patience we need when waiting… and we will have such great joy… such peace because God is in control… I am not always good at it… but when I do give God control I find myself free to enjoy life… to savor every moment… I hear myself laughing more… feel my face smiling…. When I give God control over my life I feel such great peace…. I try to take worry as a signal that I need to give it all back to God…. I look forward to the day when I can be like Kay, this wonderful sweet lady at my church that must feel joy and peace all the time because she knows in every fiber of her being that God will take care of her!!.. I know this more every day… it is so much more a part of me than it was just a year ago… and with each new journey I take with God I am able to give him more of me…

10.3.10

Philippians 4:8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

My Thoughts
All good things come from God… so when we think about those things… and dwell on those things… we are thinking on the things God made… this is one way to praise God… giving thought to all the beautiful things he has made.. On the other hand when we sorry and think about our troubles… worry about bad things that might happen… when we talk about all the bad that is around us… could that be a form or worshiping the evil around us?… it is at least giving the devil credit and thought… this week I am going to try and say only good things… think about the good things that might happen in my day and my week… remember happy moments…. I am not going to take the chance on giving the devil any of my praise.

10.2.10

Proverbs 24:16 The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again…But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.

My Thoughts
When we follow God he takes care of us… we will fall because we are human… but God will be there to pick us up if we are walking with him… all we have to do is call out and he will pick us up and set us back on our feet over and over again…. How wonderful to know that God is there to pick us up… how wonderful it is to know that when we fall all we have to do is call out to God and he is there to make us right again!… This is a reason to be joyful!

10.1.10

Isaiah 65:1 The Lord says, “I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help, I was ready to be found, but no one was looking for me. I said, ‘Here I am!’ to a nation that did not call on my name.

My Thoughts
God is there waiting to help us!… but we have to take the first step… we have to call on him…. We have to ask for his help… we need to do this for ourselves, our families, our nation… we have to ask God to be a part of all that we do… God is there ready to respond, but we have to ask!
