I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Hugs

5.31.13

Psalm 119:130 The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.

My Thoughts
My first thought when I read this was that anybody can understand God's word if they just start reading.  I believe that is true!!  God's word tells us that if we seek wisdom, wisdom will be given to us. (James 1:5).  So we just need to seek after God and all His wisdom...that wisdom is found in the Bible.  Every time I read it I am amazed that I learn something new.

Then as I typed the words...I saw the word teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.  Teaching was important... I know a young man that knows God's word back and forth... He has a college education and a degree from seminary, but he is so eager to let people know how smart that he is that he looses people in conversation.  As I listened to him talk one day I wondered if his future congregation would "get" what he was teaching.  What God tells us and what Jesus taught us is simple and straight forward.  When we share it with others we need to make it simple and straight forward.  My husband use to tell our children, "It doesn't matter how smart you are, if you don't have the words to make people understand you might as well be speaking a foreign language."

When we share God's word with others we need to make sure that there is nothing we say that is so complicated that people walk away confused by the simple fact that God loves us!!  That everything that God does for us or to us is because He loves us beyond compare!

John 19:1-3 Then Pilate had Jesus flogged with a led-tipped whip.  The soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on  his head and they put a purple robe on him, "Hail! King of the Jews!" they Mocked, as the slapped him across the face.

My Thoughts
That is love to take all of this because of our sins and then to die on the cross.  Today I though of my own children and how much I love them.  How much I hurt when they hurt, what pain I feel when somebody does something to them to make them unhappy.  When I am unhappy, I am just unhappy but when they are unhappy I feel pain!  Can you imagine what pain God flet, as He watched down from heaven at sinners mocking and hurting His perfect child?  God did that for us!! That is love beyond understanding!!

5.29.13

Proverbs 16:7 When people's lives please the Lord, even their enemies are at peace with them.

My Thoughts
I love this!!  Look at it, read it until you know it!!  I am learning that when my life is going bad that I need to stop and ask myself, "Jeannie, how are you not in line with what God ask of you?"   As soon as I fix that all gets better.  Sometimes it takes me a few days to figure it out...sometimes I get it within a few hours. I use to not get it at all, no wonder I was always filled with anxiety.  We don't need for the stars to align, we need our lives to align with the will of God.

I love all that I am learning from God.  It gives me such peace...It makes me satisfied with what I have and where I am in life.  I don't need more stuff, I need more of God. When I seek after God all the other things in my life fall right into place.

John 16:1-3 "I (Jesus) have told you these things, so that you won't abandon your faith.  For you will be expelled from the synagogues, and the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God.  This is because they have never known the Father or me.

My Thoughts
The disciples were facing certain death..here Jesus told them they would be killed. Yet he told these men not to abandon their faith for people that don't believe in Jesus.  Our faith in Jesus is believing that all things work together for the good for those who love the Lord (Romans 8:28).  If these men were facing certain death and they were not to let unbelievers shake or abandon their faith, we in our everyday lives don't need to let unbelievers shake our faith!! No matter how they might treat us, no matter what they  might say to us, we are to stand strong in our faith because we love the Lord!!

When things happen now in my life that seem to test my faith, I will tell myself that I can stand strong because Jesus loves me!!  The deciples stood strong even facing death.  I am only facing a problem!!

5.27.13

John 15:7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!

My Thoughts
The more I read God's word the more this verse makes me smile.  And the more that I understand it!  When we hide God's word in our hearts so that we won't sin against Him  (Psalm 119:11) then what we ask for is in aline with God's word and we don't have to be told no.  When we love God with all of our heart we seek after him!!

Remember when you were first falling in love.  You could not stand to be away from that person.  You wanted to know every detail of their lives!  You could listen for days on end almost without food. Everything that they said you wanted to hear.  You wanted to remember the important things and smile and the not so important things. You wanted to be a part of their lives...you wanted them to be a part of who you were.  That is how we need to treat our relationship with God.  We need to fall in love with Him, with His words.  We need to want to spend time each and every day with Him.  We need to want to do what would make Him Smile.

God's word can only remain in us if we know it. And I mean truly know it.  I use to know what people told me about God's word.  There were  few verses that I knew, you know those verses that most everybody knows.  But those words were not in my heart not really.  I liked to believe they were...but they were more in my brain.  The more that I read God's word the more it drops down in my heart and becomes a part of who I am instead of a part of what I know.  We need to know Jesus enough that He is a part of who we are not a part of what you know!!

I have a long way to go!!  The things of the world still get in my way sometimes.  There are verses that I don't quite understand yet but one day God will reveal the meaning to me. When He does it will drop down into my heart, because God will make sure that it does.  The more I know God the more my request line up with His will...and when that happens I always get a yes!!  Each time I am amazed!!

5.25.13

Psalm 119:36-37 Give me and eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money! Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.

My Thoughts
I love this verse!  I immediately thought of Jeremiah 29:11 when I read it.  Jeremiah 29:11 says  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  We so get caught up in money. After all we need it to live...to eat, to have shelter...and then there are all those things to want. We can find ourselves working so hard to obtain enough money, and when we get there to that point that would be "enough" we find ourselves wanting more.

But when we fix our eyes on God...when we are eager to spend time with God and please God, God will make sure that all that we need follows. God will make sure that we prosper and we have hope all the time.  God makes sure that our future is bright.  And you know what else.... God also cares about those things that delight us...it says so in Psalm 37:4 Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Look God cares about our future, He cares if we are prosperous, He cares about the desires of our heart. When we love God all else follows!! And it is so much easier to spend time with God that it is to spend time in worry!!!

5.24.13

John 14:27 "(Jesus said) I am leaving  you with a gift --peace of mind and heart.  And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give.  So don't be troubled or afraid.

My Thoughts
Oh there were so many goodies in my Bible reading today, I underlined and underlined and underlined, but this one on this one is so important. I just didn't want anybody to miss it!!

Jesus is where our peace comes from!  We can look all around us and see people from every walk of life unhappy, not peaceful.  Because they are seeking their peace in so many other things!!  I have been there. Oh if I had only know early, early in life where peace came from!!

I heard about a psychologist once that decided to do an experiment... he had is patients read the 23 Psalm, you know the one The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want. He had them read that whole some 4 times a day.  They were to write it down and carry it with them... if I remember right they were to read it in the morning, at lunch and dinner and before going to bed at night. They had to read if from the paper not from memory.  And they had to think on each and ever word.  Something like 80% of them were better within the month.  I was not surprised when  I head this because I had been reading my Bible every day for a couple of years and I knew it worked.  But if you had told me that about 5 years ago I would not have believed it.  Now I know it is true.  Why? Because our peace of heart and mind can only come from Jesus.

I have had anxiety and even panic over the years, sometimes less than others, but I always had it.  I had it on my first day of school and it never went away.  I have had it in mild forms for long periods of time...then I have had it in incapacitating forms for months on end.  The last time I had it was several years ago.  My kids were both out of the house so I had nothing to keep me in touch with people and the world around me.  My anxiety and panic had gotten really out of hand. I would leave my house to take care of my mom and I could go to Hobby Lobby by myself... but Robby bought groceries because Wal-Mart would give me such anxiety.  Robby and I would go out and that was fine because I had Robby with me.  But I could tell I was getting worse and worse and worse.  Then John-Robert (my son) gave me my One Year Bible for Christmas and since it was laid out in daily readings and I knew where to start and where to end and because it was from him, I was determined to read it from cover to cover.

I started reading my Bible. Now mind  you I had been saved when I was 9 and I had been in and out of church all my life.  I knew who Jesus was and I knew that I was suppose to love Him so I did.  As I read my Bible I begin to fill a change, I begin to hunger after God in a way that I had not ever hungered after God...those words were changing me!!  I became thirsty for God's word and I begin falling in love with God and with Jesus... not loving them because I was suppose to...but because they loved me so much and I couldn't help but love them back!!!  The more I read and understood, the more peace I had... slowly but surely that peace took the place of the anxiety and panic. It is a peace that does pass all understanding and every day I am amazed.  You see the devil didn't have to tempt me with being bad, he just had to keep me distracted with life and fill my head with thought that produced anxiety.  But God is stronger that Satin and God will win every time if I keep my eyes on Him.

Every once in a while I feel anxiety creeping in and I know that I am not going back to that life.  I reach deep within my spirit and I start saying out loud those things God tells me.  Things like I am wonderfully made, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. God will never leave me or forsake me.  The list goes on!!  And before you know it.. in a matter of less than an hour all that doubt and anxiety goes right away.  The thing is... when I renew my mind each morning with God's word there is seldom, and I mean once every few months, a time when I even get a bit of anxiety. That is because peace comes from knowing Jesus. Jesus loves me this I know!!  And some days I can even feel Him reach down His hand for mine and that is so awesome!

If you don't have peace, I beg you seek Jesus!  If I were there with you I would hold your face in my hand and say, "Jesus loves you!!!  Take time to know Him, really know Him!! And your life will be forever transformed!! I promise!"  Every minute you spend with God, He will give you back that time seven fold! Don't ever think you don't have time, God will make a way for all you have to do, if you will make time for God!!

5.23.13

John 14:1 "Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me."

My Thoughts
Another words, "Don't worry We've got your back!!"  When we worry it shows a lack of faith that God does have our backs, that Jesus is setting there on the right hand of God praying constantly for us.  Jesus is praying for us when we forget to pray ourselves.

It is so important that we take time to notice the things God does for us... to realize that all the good that happens in our lives is a gift straight from God.  From a smile across Wal-Mart from a stranger to surviving a complicated surgery...and all the good things in-between.  When we learn that these are all from God and we take time to notice them, and be thankful for them, the easier it is to give our troubles over to God.  When we realize that God cares about whether we eat, or have clothes on our backs.  When we realize that God cares about the desires of our hearts. Then we start to notice that He does make sure our needs are met...and he even gives us so many of our wants, then it is easy to not let our hearts be troubled, because it is ingrained in us that God is taking care of us.

I challenge you today to notice the good in your day, and each time that there is good in your day to give God the credit, the glory for that good.

As I was writing this last sentence I realized that each time we talk about the good in our lives and we know that it is from God we are giving God glory. On the other side of the same coin, each time we talk about the bad in our lives we are giving Satin glory.  I don't want to give Satin one bit of glory!! Do you?  I know you don't.  Spend your day recognizing the good!  Spend your day thanking God for all that you have!

5.22.13

Proverbs 15:30b good news makes for good health.

My Thoughts
Wow!!  No wonder there is all kinds of health issues these days!!  Gossip abounds and gossip is always bad news getting even worse with each person that repeats it.  The there is the news in the paper and on television...all bad.  I remember as a child the news paper having some stories of celebration, some good news.  Now news is not news if it is a celebration of something positive.  If we want to be healthy we need to make sure that good things are coming from our mouths, and in our ear...and good things are filling our eyes when we read.  Good news makes for good health!!

I am going to remember this!!  I am going to surround myself with good things... good, wise words, good news.  And if I hear bad news...I will do my best to search for the good in the bad and take the good away with me.  Then as I live my day out I can dwell on the good. Like the tornado this week... I can walk around thinking, "So many people lost there homes!! What devastation!" or I can choose to think and dwell on, "Look at how much God loves us!! Look at all those lives that are safe and int tact amid such devastation! God is so good!" Then my heart will be happy and my body will be healthy!

5.21.13

Proverbs 15:28 The heart of the godly thinks carefully before speaking; the mouth of the wicked overflows with evil words.

My Thoughts
I love this verse.... the close I grow to good the more I see it happening in my life.  I have always tried to be sweet and kind...but I have had my moments.  Mostly when I was being a bit selfish.  Now when I think of saying something that feels selfish or the least bit unkind I hear the Holy Spirit saying, "I understand how you feel, but are those words going to be useful at all?"  Then I stop and think, "No they won't they will not be productive at all so there is no need in speaking them.  Be sweet and kind, Jeannie, focus on all that is good!"  Then I am able to move on and not dwell on something that didn't go my way.  I don't always listen...but I listen better all the time...and you know what?  My life just gets better and better and better. God only wants what is best for me so when I listen to Him speaking in my life my life just gets better!!

5.20.13

Psalm 118:6-7 The lord is for me, so I will have no fear.  What can mere people do to me?  Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me.  I will look in triumph at those who hate me.

My Thoughts
Just before I read this in Psalms I read a story in 1 Samuel 29  where Achish said that he had never found a single flaw in David, yet David had enemies.  We live on this earth where Satin is our enemy if we love God and Satin will use people to let  us know that someone is against us.  But remember that God cast Satin out of Heaven... God has given Jesus victory over Satin and when we love God and live in that love God gives us victory over Satin.  No matter what Satin sets man out to do to us or against us God is the victor. When we love God, God gives us victory, and we can look in triumph at those who hate us!! We can hold our heads up because we are children of the Most High.

We need to let this drop down into our hearts, into our spirits...we need to know that so that when the enemy comes against us we can stand firm!!  We can stand strong!!  So that we show no fear!!  We need to look in triumph at those who hate us because we love God!! As Christians we need to stand firm in what God tells us... we should never back down..ever!!  Because God is our victory!!

5.19.12

Psalm 116:1-2 I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayers for mercy.  Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have a breath!

My Thoughts
I love these words, "Because he bends down to listen," amazing!!  I love picturing God bending down to listen to my words.  But you know what?  God can't hear us if we are not talking to Him.  What I have learned from David is that He talked to God about everything, every feeling he had.  And when he was thinking in a way that he shouldn't, after talking to God his thoughts would become clear and right again.

I so have to get better at this...talking to God instead of people when I am frustrated about a situation in my life.  It isn't that God can't hear me when I am talking to others... the problem is that I can't hear God when I am talking to people instead of Him.

5.17.13

John 10:3b-5 He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.  After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice.  The won't follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don't know his voice.

My Thoughts
We can not follow Jesus if we don't spend time learning what His voice sounds like.  I know... I tried, for years, to do what Jesus wanted without finding out exactly who Jesus was and what Jesus would say to me and what His voice sounded like.  Satin tries to sound like Jesus so he can fool us... if we know Jesus we know what Jesus sounds like...because we recognize his voice and we know what Jesus would and would not say because we know His heart.  When we learn what Jesus sounds like, what words Jesus would say and what words He would not say we know when to run. And when we run we need to run straight to Jesus.

And do you know why Jesus walks ahead of us and not behind us herding us up?  Because Jesus gives us free will to follow Him.  Jesus gives us a choice.  And because Jesus is finding the safe places for us to land...He can't do that from behind. When I wrote that last sentence I thought of how a soldier sends out his dog ahead of him...that dog will risk his life for the solider he loves so much. He will sniff out the land mines so his soldier can step on safe and solid ground.  That is the very reason Jesus walks in front of us... so that He can sit us on safe and solid ground. Satin on the other hand will lie to us and tell us he is doing something good for us. Then he will sit us right slap dab in the middle of the field of lands mines, blindfolded then step outside the field and shout "fire run!" Not Jesus, Jesus loves us so much that He takes us with our eyes wide open and says to us, "Look, I have just stepped here and it is safe to follow me!" Then He will even take our hands if He needs to.  If we are not paying attention and we step on a land mine along the way, Jesus will come back and nurse us back to health.  Then He will stand in front of us leading us again.

There is no greater love than a man that would lay down His life for us...and that is just what Jesus did.  We need to know the voice of someone that would do that for us! We need to know the voice of Jesus!!!

5.16.13

John 9:2-3 "Rabbi," his disciples asked him, "why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parent's sins?"

"It was not because of his sins or his parent's sins," Jesus answered, "This happened so the power of God could be seen in him."

My Thoughts
I found this verse comforting!  I have read it before at least three times before....but today it really struck me!!  Jesus told the disciples that if they had the faith of a mustard seed they could move mountains.  People in the stories in the Bible were healed when they believed Jesus could heal them.  I have to have faith that when the time is right for God's glory to be revealed in my healing, because I believe in Jesus, I will be healed.

Now each time I hurt, each time it is hard for because I am so tired from Lupus...I will say, "Thank you God for letting me be a part of your glory... thank you that you have chosen me for your power can be seen in me."  That is how I will look at being sick from no on!!  I believe that one day it is going to be the right time for God's power to be see in my healing!!  How exciting is that!!!

5.15.13

Proverbs 15:13 A glad heart makes a happy face: a broken heart crushes the spirit.

My Thoughts
I love how knowing God makes my heart glad!  From the outside looking in my life has not changed that much, but my heart has!  The more I truly know God, by studying His word, and by prayer the more my heart is glad. I have all the things I had before, God was taking care of me all along.  But before I felt in fear all the time, so insecure. I have a husband that God gave me that loves me so very much, that would do anything in the world for my happiness and for my security, but I didn't always see that. My sweet husband didn't change I just was able to see him more clearly when God's love cleared my mind.  When I was not so close to God, the devil was able to get in and feed my mind with insecurity all the time.  God feeds my mind with love, God makes sure that I know that I am taken care of.  The more I know the Scripture the more I can use it to fight off the defeating thoughts Satin likes to put into our brains. Satin loves to break our hearts and he will do it  by overloading our brains with defeating thoughts.  God on the other hand lets us choose Him, He does not get in our face and in our brains demanding from us.  God gives us a choice and when we choose God we are showered with love and blessings.  When we choose God we are given strength to get through the bad times.  When we choose God we are never alone.  When we choose God our hearts are glad and our faces are happy.

5.14.13

Psalm 111:10 Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.  All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise Him forever!

My Thoughts
I love this!  God rewards us with wisdom if we obey his commandments!  If we do what is right, we will become wise! Isn't this wonderful!

My grandmother did not finish High School.  I am not quite sure what grade she finished.  But she loved God with all her heart.  She knew the Bible...she knew all the stories of the Bible.  And she did her very best to do what God would have her do.  I loved sitting and talking with my grandmother, my MawMaw and the stories she told were amazing.  The wisdom that came out of her mouth would make your jaw drop.  Her wisdom didn't come from an education, it came from God.  God gave her such wisdom because she loved God and did what He asked her to do!

An education is a wonderful thing!!  But wisdom is greater than an education.  Wisdom makes an education it's most useful.

David was just a boy when He slayed Goliath... with an army of men standing behind him...all with an education in how to fight a battle...but David who had never fought in battle has wisdom that came straight from God.  David had God on his side.  With that wisdom he took off the kings armor and put down his sword, took his slingshot and killed a giant.  David knew that he could do all things with God on his side, David was wise enough not to fight with things he had not used before. David was just a boy but wiser than the whole army of Israel, young and old. Why? Because David obeyed God's commandments and God blessed him with wisdom.

5.13.13

Proverbs 15:6 There is treasure in the house of the godly, but the earnings of the wicked bring trouble.

My Thoughts
I love how God watches over every part of our lives!!  Looking back over our lives the times we struggled the most with our budget were the times that we were far away from God!!  Now we are both closer to God than we have ever been, and all our needs keep being provided for!!  Even when something big comes up, God protects our money!  It amazes me every time!! Then I read this scripture and I know that our bank account is a "God thing!"  In fact the closer we get to God...the more protected we are.  I am constantly amazed at how much God watches over every part of our lives.  Thank you God so much for protecting me in every area of my life. In Jesus precious name!!!

5.11.13

John 6:44 For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me, and at the last day I will raise them up.

My Thoughts
I so love this verse... it just makes my heart happy!!  The very minute we have the thought to find out about Jesus it is God saying I choose you, I love you!!  I want you to be one of my children.  The very minute we read about Jesus, the same is true.  The very moment someone tells us about Jesus, the very moment someone says to us, "Jesus loves you!"  It is a fact that He does...and that God does...because Jesus tells us here, "no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me!"  When someone tells us about Jesus it is God saying I love you!!  And I want you to meet my son Jesus because He is the way to Me... If you know Him you can come and live with me in My Kingdom.  If you know my son and love Him and accept Him you are also welcome with Him into My home...here let me introduce you because I want you with me too!

If you read this today, it is God telling you that He loves you and wants you to be His child!!!  He wants to share all He has with you!!  How special is that, that God chooses us!!  I love it!!

5.10.13

1 Samuel 9:20b-22 And I (Samuel) and here to tell you that you and your family are the focus of all of Israel's hopes.

Saul replied, "But I'm only form the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe in Israel, and my family is the least important of all the families of that tribe! way are you talking like this to me?"

My Thoughts
Gideon who fought with only 300 men and won great battles against thousands said the same when God picked him to lead His people.  What does this tell us?  Two things, first that nothing is impossible with God no matter who we are. 2. We are never to small to be used by God.  When God was with these men, they became great leaders.  When God is with us we can become anything that God will have us to be, God will make us able. When God does use us...it is so important that we give God all the glory!! Each day in our lives when good things happen, for us or through us, it is God's gift to us.  We need to remember this and send up praises and thanks for those wonderful things in our lives because wonderful always comes from God!

5.9.13

Proverbs 14:33 Wisdom is enshrined in an understanding heart; wisdom is not found among fools.

My Thoughts
Enshrined is defined like this: to cherish as sacred.  Another definition was this, "Preserve (a right, tradition, or idea) in a form that ensures it will be protected and respected."  Wisdom comes straight from God.  We need to cherish wisdom, to treat is as sacred, we need to respect wisdom.

There are several ways to do this.  One is to read our Bibles and keep reading our Bibles so that the wisdom we get will stay enshrined in our hearts.  We need to listen to people that do know more than us... God gives up people with more experience in their lives than we have for a reason.  We need to treat wisdom with respect because it is a gift from God.  The Bible even tells us to search for it like we would silver or gold (Proverbs 2:4). Silver or gold can be taken from us, but wisdom never can!

5.8.13

1 Samuel 2:25 If someone sins against another person, God can mediate for the guilty party.  But if someone sins against the Lord, who can intercede?

My Thoughts
Look at that first line, "If someone sins against another person, God can meditate for the guilty party."  I loved this it made me smile. It made me realize that every single time someone had forgiven me a wrong, God was in that mediating for me!!  We give people too much credit and God too little credit.  I owe God so many thank you's for mediating for me so I could be forgiven!

Then after this was written God sent Jesus to mediate for us when we sin against God.  God loves us so much that He makes sure that we have a way to be forgiven! How special God treats us!! How wonderful that He has such forgiveness in His hearts for us!!  We are truly blessed!

5.7.13

Psalm 105:37 The Lord brought his people out of Egypt, loaded with silver and gold; and not one among the tribes of Israel even stumbled.

My Thoughts
God does not tell u we will not face trouble, what God does tell us is that He will be with us and will receive double for our trouble in Zechariah 9:12.  Here the Israelites had been prisoners, God had been with them...and when they left Egypt they walked away loaded with silver and gold. They didn't take the silver and gold it was given to them.  So much silver and gold that they should have stumbled with the weight, but God was with them so they didn't!!

With God on our side we can believe for so much... even in times of trouble we can know that when we come out the other side with God... there will be blessings waiting for us!  Oh, how He loves us so. Oh how He loves us, how he loves us so.

5.6.13

John 4:50 Then Jesus told him, "Go back home. Your son will live!" And the man believed what Jesus said and started home.

My Thoughts
This man's son was healed because of his belief in what Jesus told him.  How much do we miss out on because we don't believe? How much do we miss out on because we don't know what Jesus said to believe it?

God's word is full of promise that are for us when we become a child of God.  But to be able to believe in God's word, we have to know God's word.  The only way to know God's word, to truly know it is to read, read, read and study, study, study.  What power we have a children of God when we learn and grown in Him.

5.5.13

John 3:34 For he (Jesus) is sent by God.  He speaks God's words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit.

My Thoughts
In John 5:19 Jesus tells us, "I only do what my Father tells me to do."  The more we become like Jesus the more of the Spirit we get.  Jesus was given the Spirit without limit because He depended on God totally!  Our strength and victory comes straight from God.  The more our lives we give to God the more strength and victory we will have.  The  more Spirit we will be given.  We have to strive to be more and more like Jesus each day!!

5.3.13

Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

My Thoughts
This is important to put into our memory so that we can call on it when we are deciding whether or not to help someone.  When we help others with the giving, loving spirit of God. God will take care of that debt.  God will bless that giving.  We have to keep our hearts and our wallets open to spreading the love of God.  We have to trust that God will restore to us what we have given to others.  And we have to pray that God will help others use what we have given wisely.

It is so easy to over think giving.  To wonder if it is really helping.  Sometimes if it doesn't help somebody financially.. it helps their spirit to know that someone cares.  We can always send a prayer up and ask God first what we should do, but when God says that we should give, then we should give knowing that God will protect our storehouse.

God does protect us from people that will use us! Robby and I have experienced God protecting us. That experience has made it so much easier to trust God when He ask us to give to others.

5.2.13

Psalm 103:2 Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.

My Thoughts
To remember the good things that God does for us we have to be able to recognize them.  To be able to recognize all that comes from God we have to know God.  We have to understand just how much he loves us.  To understand just how much God loves us we have to spend time getting to know Him.

Once we do understand the good things God is doing in our lives, knowing what they are builds our faith.  The more our faith grows the more we believe God's promises and understand that they are for us.  And the more we understand God's promises the more we can call on those promises for our lives.

The more we know God the more time we will spend praising him!

5:1:13

Psalm 102:28 The children of your people will life in security.  Their children's children will thrive in your presence.

My Thoughts
If you can not see any reason to love and accept God for yourself then this verse alone should give you reason to love and accept God for your children and grandchildren.  God gives His children, children a life of security and He makes His children's grandchildren thrive.

Oh if you love your children, love God and all will be good for them!!
