I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Hugs

Jeannie

Job 32:8  But there is a [vital force] a spirit [of intelligence] in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives me understanding.

My Thoughts
I love this!! God puts the Holy Spirit inside us to help us understand his words, to help us understand others, to help us make intelligent choices, to help us love one another,  to help us understand God's plan for our lives. The more I learn to listen to the Holy Spirit the more I do understand. The more I listen to the Holy Spirit inside of me the more loving I am. The more I listen to the Holy Spirit inside of me the more pleased I am with my life. The more I listen to the Holy Spirit the more I want to know!! 2 Corinthians 3:17 says that "For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." I love the freedom we get from God...it is a freedom of spirit, a freedom of mind, a freedom to love others.  It is much like the freedom a baby has to learn and explore and grow, to love everyone around them... babies get to be all they need to be because there is somebody watching over them keeping them safe...guiding there steps, picking them up when they fall, providing for them. Babies have the freedom to be all that they can be with someone stronger there to watch over them and keep them safe. Does this mean they never fall? no...does this mean they never get sick? no.... Does this mean things are always easy for them? no.... Does this mean they don't have to try? no... but it does mean that they are being watched over, they are being provided for, they are being loved, they are being picked up when they fall, someone is holding their hand when it needs holding, the are constantly being loved and cared for. Babies have the freedom to grow into something wonderful, and joyous. So do we when we have the Holy Spirit inside of us!

Job 42:8 (God said) So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves.  My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has."

My Thoughts
This is what I learned today... first let me tell you  part of what I do in the mornings... I read my daily Bible reading from my one year Bible and I read a section... usually they are a page ... from The Power of Praying Through the Bible.. by Stormie Omartian.... today she, Stormie explained about the verse she quoted that the Bible makes it "crystal clear that if we have any unforgiveness, bitterness, selfishness, pride, anger, irritation. or resentment in our hearts, our prayers will not be answered. Our hearts have to be right when we pray." ... then I had read this verse above in my daily Bible reading... I have been praying for God to teach me how to pray for others... and this was such a good example of how to pray for others... I have a person dear to my heart that has these sad thing in their heart... I know they often pray in desperation... so today I prayed for God to forgive them of their angry, bitterness, irritation and resentment... (after I ask for forgiveness for my self) so that God could hear their prayers today....and so that they could feel God's presence in their lives at least for a while... and that, that moment of feeling God's presents during their prayers today would help them grow a little closer to God, give them a bit more hope about life....I am hoping that praying on their behalf each day... as Job did for his friends will give the more moments each day... bigger, longer moments... moments that will free their spirits up to feel God's complete, perfect love... I think that I learned something huge today!!

Job 34: 31-32 “Why don’t people say to God, ‘I have sinned, but I will sin not more‘? Or ‘I don’t know what evil I have done -- tell me. If I have done wrong, I will stop at once’?

My Thoughts

I think that today we think it is enough to say “God forgive me of my sins” and we go on to repeat the same sins over and over. But God ask us to sin no more.. Which means with great effort we can go without sin if we try… we get so caught up in the fact that we are human so that we are going to sin that we just sin and ask forgiveness for our sins… in that general way … and live tomorrow the same way that we lived today. Here it tells us that we should ask God to reveal our sins to us so that we can stop committing that sin… it is very important for us to repent of our sins by what they actually are… Dear God please forgive me for being unkind to ______ today…. Dear God please forgive me for being selfish when I was distributing the work load today... Dear God please forgive me for__________…. We do not fool God about what our actually sins are by not stating them… we only fool ourselves… we don’t hide those sins from God, we hide those sins from us… and go on to repeat them over and over… God doesn't’t ask us to name/repent of our sins to embarrass us… he wants us to name our sins so that we are totally, fully aware of them… being totally aware of exactly what our sins are empowers us with the ability to be overcome that very sin…. The only way to be sin free… the only way to “go forth and sin no more” is to know what sins we have committed so that we can stop! …. When we ask God "What were my sins God?", we are often surprised at what we have done…. we need to remember when we  are in prayer… when we are talking to God… God already knows!… and God is always willing to forgive… we need to be willing to hear… and willing to do better… Today it may be hard to hear what we have done wrong… but if we are willing to hear and do better then tomorrow we can face God with one less sin in our lives because we have learned to learn… and we are more aware… and we are stronger, more able to do what is right… we are a step closer to sinning no more… because we were brave enough to ask… humble enough to listen…. And wise enough to remove one more sin from our lives.

Job 11:18a  Having hope will give you courage.

My Thoughts
The defination of hope is: the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best... God is hope... God answers our prayers... God gives us what we want when it is good for us.... hope is that the feeling that events will turn out for the best!... even in the worst situations if we have God we can have hope! ..... we can know that all things work for the good of God's great plan ... it goes on to say in this chapter that you will be protected and will rest in safty.  You will lie down unafraid.... when we put our trust in God ... we can go about our day with hope for all things good... we can rejoice even in the bad times... because everything will be okay in the end... we can rest when we lie down... because God is in control ... God will protect his children... Having God is having hope...and hope is a wonderful thing!
