I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

My Thoughts
These have been some bad times for our country…. So many of us see that… I hear all the complaining ad all the blaming …. All the name calling… all the fear and worry… but there is a solution!… instead of blaming and name calling… instead of grumbling and complaining wee need to humble ourselves and pray and seek the face of God… we need to turn from our wicked ways…(that includes grumbling and complaining, blaming and name calling), we need to confess of our own sins…and stand at the crossroads and confess of the sins of our nations…and ask God to heal our land…God said in Ezekiel 22:30I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.”…one man is all God wanted …. We need to each decide to be that one man… not be the complainer… the blamer… the grumbler… we need to each decide to humble ourselves… confess or our sin… seek God’s face… we need to each turn from our wicked ways… and we won’t need the right people in office… we won’t need a bailout… it won’t matter if we have Democrats or Republicans in office… God will take control and fix our problems…be we need to each decide to be the “one man” that God is seeking to save this nation.

9.29.10

Isaiah 58:6-7 “No, this is the kind of fasting I want: Free those who are wrongly imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free, and remove the chains that bind people. Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.

My Thoughts
God was telling his people here that going through the motions was not enough… that we need to be doing the real things… we need to stand up for peoples rights… lighten the burdens of the people around us… feed the hungry, shelter the homeless…. Make sure people are warm…and not to hide from the people that we know need something… we are to truly make an effort to do for others.. This can be hard… I know it can… we can think but I worked hard for that money and I deserve a toy!!… something nice… and we can know people that call on us to do for them didn’t work hard… but we must remember they are God’s people too… and if we show them true kindness and love… if we give up a toy so they can have a need… what we give them will be far more than a warm shirt… or a full tummy… what will be hope… when somebody gets hopeless even the simplest task can be so hard… when people become hopeless they feel worthless and can’t pick themselves up… so we need to give them hope in a shirt… or a bag of groceries… an odd job… hope can change the world… and we give hope one little deed at a time.. We give hope in a warm coat… in a bowl of soup…in a safe place to sleep…we give hope when we give love…. When we give love we give back to God what God has given us.

9.28.10

Isaiah 54:9-10 “Just as I swore in the time of Noah that I would never again let a flood cover the earth, so now I swear that I will never again be angry and punish you. For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you.

My Thoughts
Isn’t this a wonderful verse! God promises us that he will never again be angry and punish us…and his faithful love for us will remain always. The only thing that keeps us from God is us… God is always there right beside us, loving us, encouraging us… forgiving us… all we have to do is reach out and ask for his forgiveness… ask for his help… God always, always loves us… Sometimes when we get to the point that we don’t love ourselves… we feel that God does not love us… we need to remember that God’s faithful love is always there and we need to reach out to God, who is always waiting on us just to ask.

9.27.10

Ephesians 5:10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.

My Thoughts
Wow! … to be such a tiny sentence this verse is huge… it says to me we are to carefully plan out our day… we are to carefully watch our thoughts… we are to carefully speak our words…. It says we have no excuses for acting on impulse… we are to go about our life carefully determining our actions and our words so that all that we do will please God… and to be able to carefully determine what pleases God we need to know his word… we need to be in constant conversations with God… we need to be open to listening to God as he speaks to us through the Holy Spirit living inside of us… when we have that gut feeling that something we are about to do or about to say is wrong we should not do it or say it…. If we start reasoning with ourselves about something we need to stop and say am I trying to reason with the Holy Spirit?… and stop and hear what the Holy Spirit is telling us to do… when we think “I really should do ___________.”, then we need to stop as ask ourselves “Is this something God is telling me to do?”…. We need to carefully determine what pleases the Lord… if we carefully determine what pleases the Lord and act on those things then we can’t go wrong!

9.26.10

Isaiah 48:17-18 This is what the Lord says -- your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow. Oh, that you had listened to my commands! Then you would have had peace flowing like a gentle river and righteousness rolling over you like waves in the sea.

My Thoughts
God himself tells us right here the way to peace is listening to God’s commands … doing what he ask us to do…. Pleasing God instead of trying to please people. Have you ever know a one of those people that you can never please…. My husband puts it this way “If you gave her a million dollars she would complain because you put it in the wrong hand.” … well God is not like that… if you do what pleases God, he will be happy with you… God has the ability to give us peace like a gentle river and righteousness rolling over us like waves in the sea…. We need to wake up each morning and make a conscious effort to follow God’s path… to listen to God’s commands, to choose to please God. When we do this everything else will fall into place.

9..25.10

Proverbs 24:3-4 A house is built by wisdom and becomes strong through good sense.  Through knowledge its rooms are filled with all sorts of precious riches and valuables.

My Thoughts
God values wisdom... he is constantly telling us to grow in knowledge.... knowledge is wisdom.... Solomon could ask God for anything, anything at all... and Solomon ask for wisdom... God was so pleased with this that he rewarded Solomon with all the other gifts.... We are to seek wisdom through prayer, and reading the Bible, by learning from people older and wiser than us... we are to seek wisdom from people who have studied things.... people who do better than us in areas we are weak in... God wants us to be in a constant state of learning...and sharing what we know...so the next time somebody tries to teach you something stop and listen, learn from what they are saying.... we need to gain knowledge from as many places as we can... and in return God will reward us for doing what he ask us to do.

9.24.10

Ephesians 3:20  Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

My Thoughts
We, as humans, limit our thoughts to what we know, to what others say about us... we limit ourselves because as humans we can only imagine so much... God on the other-hand is all knowing... his vision for our future is grand... his knowledge is limitless, infinite... so what God can think and imagine for us is far beyond our ability to think or reason... oh the things we can do and be if we just put our days, our lives our futures into God's hands.... and let God do the imagining for us..... we have all heard that we can be anything we can imagine... less lean to be anything that God can imagine for us by trusting totally in God.

9.23.10

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

My Thoughts
This is grand… this is a verse to put in our memories… so when the devil whispers in our thoughts that we are worthless… we can say back to the devil… “No, I am God’s masterpiece!”… when the devil tells us we are stupid we can’t do anything right we can say “God has good things planned for me!… and God will not let me fail!”… So many times the devil sneaks into our thoughts trying to tare us down… when you hear the devil try to do that to you stop him in his tracks… tell him you are God’s masterpiece.. Tell him you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!…. Stand up to those thoughts in your head with God’s truth… then walk away with your shoulders held high praising God and watch your day get better and better as you believe God’s truth over the devils lies!

9.22.10

Psalms 66:18-19 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.  But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer.

My Thoughts
Have you ever felt like God didn't hear your prayers...that you were praying to the wind, I have... sometimes we are praying to the wind... when we have unconfessed sin in our hearts and our lives it can be like praying to the wind... maybe you have confessed all of your sins and you still feel that way... all you have to do is say God what sin have I committed that is standing between us.... God please tell me what is is that I have done wrong so that I can come to you and you can listen to me... so that you can answer my prayers... God will let you know... it may be uncomfortable... but it is so worth it to be back in the presence of God's love!  God doesn't want us to repent of specific sins to shame us... He wants us to be aware of all of our sins so that we have the opportunity to do better... we can't do better if we don't know what we have done wrong... so if you feel that you prayers are blowing in the wind.. ask God today "God, what is it that I have done that is separating me from you?" ... then be still and listen.... when we do that we can confess our sins and have God back on our side... we can walk in God's protection... there is no safer place to be.

9.21.10

Galatians 6:9-10 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone--especially to those in the family of faith.

My Thoughts
Have you ever thought should I?… well of course you have, we all have!… when it's something good that we are thinking about, that is a nudging, that is our moment of opportunity to do good… the Bible tells us that whenever we have the opportunity to do good we should… the Bible even calls this chance to do good an opportunity ..... doing good should never be a decision we have to make… it should always, always be an opportunity we take... An opportunity to be like Jesus.

9.20.10

Galatians 5:22-23 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. There is no law against these things!

My Thoughts
Oh how wonderful it is when we are experiencing the Fruits of the Spirit of God… how amazing we feel when we are filled with love, joy and peace.. How wonderful when we can be patience, kind and good and faithful… how powerful we are when we are gentle and have self control…. All these gifts come from God… if we are feeling out of the presence of any of these wonderful Fruits of the Spirit we need to stop and ask God what it is that we have done to separate ourselves from him… take time to listen… ask forgiveness … and be aware totally aware of what separated us from God and these wonderful fruits so that we can so enjoy all the these wonderful fruits from God… because love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control…all these things are priceless.

9.10.20

Isaiah 30:18 So the Lord must wait for  you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion.  For the Lord is a faithful God.  Blessed are those who wait for his help.

My Thoughts
If we want God's help... and we should want it all the time... we need it all the time that is for sure... if we want God's help we must go to him and ask for it... when we do God will show us his love compassion... so if we are not seeing God's love in our lives we need to stop and ask ourselves, "Did I invite God into my day today... into this problem... into this happy moment?"  if you haven't then stop and do just that... don't take the moment back over, don't try to worry it out of existence... leave it with God and he will take care of it... God will take care of all parts of our lives, our days, our moments... but first we have to go to him and ask.

9.18.10

Isiah 28:26 The farmer knows just what to do, for God has given him understanding.

My Thoughts
Oh this verse was just so so exciting to me!!!... It made my heart happy.... We have all seen those people that could just do something...they just knew how from the beginning of when they tried... some people grow stuff (not me!!!)... some people can pick up a musical instrument and just know how to play it...and the more they seek to know they just understand what they learn.... some people can paint a painting... it is there in their head in vivid detail.... some people can cook with amazing insight to what this spice does and what that spice does... then there are the scientist... the mathematicians... some people can read with great understanding and speed once they got it, they got it!!... I can make a card... and it seems that I can knit with my Knifty Knitters.... and both of these things are just easy to me and I love doing them... this verse says to me that God gives us that knowledge of what comes easy to each of us... God gives us our gifts and our abilities...they are gifts to us from God... and we should use these gifts wisely!!!... and we should use these very gifts to give back to God ... 1 Peter 4:10 says "God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts.  Use them well to serve one another."... use them well to serve one another... if you have a gift think of how you can use it to bring joy to the people around you... we need to do as God ask us and use our gift to serve others.... and oh what joy God gives us back when we do just that!... When I make something and give it away...and it makes that person happy... I feel such wonderful joy!!... that joy is our gift back from God...that joy is priceless!

9.17.10

Proverbs 23:17-18 Don't envy sinners, but always continue to fear the Lord. You will be rewarded for this; your hope will not be disappointed.

My Thoughts
It can be easy to envy what others have even when we know they obtained it by doing the wrong things to get it... it is easy to think... why should I do what is right and have less ... and watch them do what is wrong and have more.... so often we see the material possessions of someone else and envy them without knowing the spiritual demons they are facing each and every moment of their lives... We don't know that they toss and turn instead of sleeping... we don't know that they worry all the time... that they are always watching over their shoulder... they are always wondering when somebody is going to figure them out and come and take it all away... we don't know because they don't tell us... they lie to us in the same way they are dishonest in obtaining what they have... so on the outside every thing looks all rosy and wonderful... When we have less but it has all be obtained through living like God would have us live... even though others don't see it... we have more because we have peace of mind... peace of mind is priceless... being able to sleep peacefully is priceless.... walking down the street without worrying about somebody we have wronged walking up to us is priceless.... never looking over our shoulder out of fear is priceless.... knowing God is going to take care of our every need is priceless... we should never dishonor God by envying what a dishonest person has.... if we have that moment... if the devil whispers that lie in our head that they are better off than us... we should stop right there in our thinking track and say... God I am so blessed... you have given me all that I need... so much of what I want... but most importantly you love me and I have peace of mind ... and God I give you all the honor and glory for that... I thank you God from the bottom of my heart .... and mean every word... and when God sees that we are thankful for what he has given us... and sees that he can trust us with more... you will be surprised at what is around the corner.... and it will be something to look foward to not something to fear!!

9.16.10

Proverbs 23:15-16 My child, if your heart is wise, my own heart will rejoice!  Everything in me will celebrate when you speak what is right.

My Thoughts
Oh we need to watch our words... we need to be mindful of what we say.... just think we have the ability to make God celebrate!... with our words... God tells us here that if our heart is wise... his own heart will rejoice... we become wish by reading God's word...then we know what to say to make God celebrate... God's whole being celebrates when we speak the truth... when we give wise counsel based on his words.... when we praise him and give God credit for all that is in our lives... that is speaking what is right... that makes God celebrate!.... how exciting to know that we can make God celebrate... when you are feeling like nobody is happy with you that nobody loves you... like you can do nothing right... open your mouth... praise God... stop and thank God for all that you are...for all that you have .... for all that you will be...for all that he has done in your life... you will the be speaking what is right!!... and you can know... because the Bible says it!!... that you have just caused God to celebrate with all that is in Him!!!... have you ever waked into a celebrations and somebody hug you up because they were in the mist of celebrating ...and your presence made them even happier...that is how God must feel when we speak what is right.. if you feel down.. unloved.. stop and praise God and rejoice in his celebration... feel the great joy of a celebration pour down on your from heaven!!

9.15.10

Psalms 59:16 But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place for safety when I am in distress.

My Thoughts
So many times we wake up in the morning on a work day or a busy day… and we start the day complaining about all that is going to go wrong… about how awful the day will be… about all that lies ahead of us… we actually call upon the day to be a bad day… we set in motion bad happenings… we need to take a page from David… we need… no matter how things look… no matter how this are… to start our day singing, or speaking God’s great power… we need to sing with joy and thank God that he is on our side.. That he is our refuge… rejoice in the fact that God keeps us safe…. Stand there in our morning with our arms out soaking in God’s unfailing love… we need to wake up and command the day to be a day of God’s favor and thank him in advance for all the wonderful things he will do for us that day…. If you are use to doing the first thing… use to starting out with complaints.. Come home after you have done that and write down all about your day… then get up… try what David did… sing about God’s power with joy… celebrate that we have God’s unfailing love… thank God for being you place of refuge…then come home that day and write down all about your day… read back over both days… and then choose how to start tomorrow….

9.14.10

Galatians 1:10 (Paul said) Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God… If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

My Thoughts
I can tell you from my own experience as a people pleaser that if you do what Paul did and please God not people that it will cut way back on decisions and choices that you make in your life… it really simplifies things… it may not always be the easiest way…. But choosing to please God… making your decision based on what God would want you to do or say…. Listening to the Holy Spirit inside you directing you… that narrows your choices and makes it clear what is right and what is wrong…. If we follow God’s path and do what God wants in our lives then God will make sure that the people who need to be pleased with is are…. God blesses us when we work to please him…. When we take in consideration what he wants …. Everything else that truly matters will work out…. When you start following God you get to quit being a people pleaser!… do you still need to be nice… yes… kind … yes…. Considerate… yes … but do you have to worry about pleasing everybody around you… no… you get to worry only about pleasing one … you get to only worry about pleasing God… now that is amazing change when you have spent your life trying to make every single person around you happy!!

9.13.10

2 Corinthians 13:11 Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to Maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.

My Thoughts
Paul tells us here how to have God with us... and it is so simply stated... Be happy, seek wisdom, encourage people and build them up, don't tear them down... live in harmony and peace... don't start stuff... to live in harmony and peace we need to be mindful of our words and our actions and how they effect each other... we need to speak only good about other people... we need to encourage people to do the right thing... encourage each other to seek God when they are making decisions... I want the God of love and peace to be with me... today lets all choose to "Be joyful. Grow to Maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace." ... just think if all the people that you come in contact with today make this same choice it would be so easy to be joyful!... lets as Christians be the person that sets the example.

9.12.10

Psalms 56:8 You keep track of all of my sorrows.  You have collected all my tears in  your bottle.  You have recorded each one in your book.

My Thoughts
How special is this.... God keeps track of all or our sorrows.... he has a record of each one... I can only imagine that when we get to heaven that God is going to take us in his wonderful arms and comfort us... and hold us tight... and that comfort will erase all memories of those sad and horrible moments in our lives.... New time I have a sorrowful time... go through something that brings sorrow upon my heart... I am going to thank God that he is keeping track and that one day God will hold me in his arms for that very pain... oh what comfort that thought alone will be... How wonderful is and loving is God... he throws all of our sins into the sea of forgetfulness.... but collects our tears in bottle... he records all of our sorrows in his great book... God loves us so much that he forget what we do wrong when we repent... but he always remembers our broken heart and our broken spirit... our times of trouble... since God is keeping track of all our sorrows and collecting all of our tears you know he has to have great plans for us concerning those moments in our lives!  This makes me just want to shout for joy!!

10.11.10

2 Corinthians 12:9 Each time God said "My grace is all you need.  my power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

My Thoughts
Have you ever noticed how we run to God when things are going bad... when we are weak... that is when we give God the power over our lives... then when things are going so wonderful we often forget to even acknowledge God... how can God be strong in our lives when we think "Look what I have done!".... look at how much God does for us when we do go to him ... when we are at the hospital and pray for great things to happen and they do!... when we need a job and we pray and God provides one... when a relationship in our lives needs to be strengthened and we turn to God and he helps.... it is amazing.... just think how much more we can accomplish if we acknowledge God always in the good times...if we stop and say "Be with me God as I lean this new thing." and the we say "Thank you God teaching me how to do this... "God help me with this deal I need to make for work... be with me in all that I say and do... give me the right words."  then we say " Thank you God for being with me during this deal for work.".... imagine how much our lives would change if we give God control all the time... if we always acknowledge that we can't do anything without him... Let's give our good days over to God and say to him "This day is good God... but I know compared to your great power what I can do is so very tiny... I give this day to you to be my strength, I depend on your knowledge and power... I know that with you that I can accomplish infinitely more than I might think to imagine (Ephesians 3:20)... God does so much with our bad times... just think what God can do with our good times!!

9.10.10

Proverbs 23:1-3 While dinning with a ruler, pay attention to what is put before you.  If you are a big eater, put a knife to your throat; don't desire all the delicacies, for he might be trying to trick you.

My Thoughts
This verse says to me... we should never be so caught up in somebody that seems more important than us to the point that we loose sight ... that we don't pay attention to their words and their actions... we should never get so lost in what they have, what they are giving to us, that we fail to notice what is "too good to be true."... if what they have was earned honestly... if what they say is truthful.... This verse tell us it would be better to put a knife to our throat than to get lost in power and possessions and compromise our relationship with God... The devil himself may be using that person who is larger than life, that has so much that you admire to trap you into believing that if you had all this power and stuff that you could do everything on your own... we should never get so caught up in power and possessions that we loose sight of the fact that what God has for us is far greater than anything we could obtain on our own.... God is telling us to pay attention and be constantly aware.

9.9.10

Isiah 5:32 What sorrow for those who are heroes at drinking wine and boast about all the alcohol they can hold.

My Thoughts
I have too many personal thoughts on this...so I will keep them to myself.... I in no way would want to come across judgemental, I have a multitude of things I do that make God unhappy...I was very anxious about posting this verse...but while I was reading  I kept coming back to it.... I so felt like God was telling me this had to be said.... I prayed and prayed about it before I posted it..... if me posting this verse offend you...and that was not my intention at all... but if it does offend you... then take a step back and look at your life and ask God if he is happy with your actions... if you think he isn't change them... I personally have had to changed a lot of my actions, maybe not this one... but sin is sin is sin... I have had to change a lot of the things I do since I started reading my Bible daily..... and I have a ways to go.... I just thank God that he is speaking to me in a way that tells me what he expects from me so that I can become the person that he wants me to be.... if I accomplish that it can only be wonderful!... Hugs and love, Jeannie

9.8.10

2 Corinthians 10:17 As the Scriptures say, "If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord."

My Thoughts
Everything we do, everything we have, everything we are is because they are gifts from God.... we can see that so clearly when a person has a beautiful voice... that, that has to be a gift from God.... but any talent that we have is a gift from God... the ability people have to work hard is a gift from God... the ability a person has to play football like they were born knowing how, that is a gift from God.... those people that can grow a plant and make it flourish... that is a gift from God... I know this to be true, I can not grow anything!....people that can grow money, you know the people that have this amazing ability to just invest in all the right things at all the right times... that is a gift from God... We need to learn to be acutely aware of this fact and remember to give God the credit for all he has done for others and to be aware of  all that he has done for us... Being in constant awareness of this... giving God the credit for these things ... that would be a wonderful way to be an amazing witness for God and all of his power and glory.... it would also be a wonderful way to keep ourselves mindful that all the we have and all that we can do come from God.... and it would so make God smile down on us if we took the time to give God the credit.... We have all heard about the amazing little 10 year old girl on American Idol with the voice of an angel... we say"Wow! she can sing!"... and she can... but what, if instead, we said "Wow! God gave her an amazing voice!"... what if somebody is in your life that can't sing, can't draw, can't seem to do anything "special" but they work like a dog!... they have this amazing ability to be there from sun up to sun down.. what if they were thinking that they had no talent at all.. what if they were thinking that God did not give them any special talent... what if they felt like God did not care about them and they heard you say "God has given you an amazing ability to get the job done... no matter what it takes!"... what if that was the moment that they knew God did do something for them... what a witness that would be... What if somebody said to you, "You are always the sweetest thing." and you replied "Oh God taught me how to be sweet.. that is my gift from God." ... maybe that person would know in that instant that God loved them.. because you were sweet ... and because you gave God the credit for putting that into your spirit.... Oh and how God would be smiling down to hear us all giving him the credit for all that we have!!... Think as a parent how you feel when one of your kids says "Oh my mom taught me how to do that."... or "I do that just like my dad."... we feel so proud... and so good... wouldn't God feel that way if he heard us give him the credit!

9.7.10

2 Corinthians 9:10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat.  In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

My Thoughts
When we love God.... totally love God... we can't help but want to give to people that are in need... God is always giving to us when we are in need...and when we love God and strive to be like God... he plants in our spirit a willingness to help... and when we are willing to act on what our spirit tells us then God provides all that we need to be more like him... it is so simple... we have to get the ball rolling... we have to say God I do want to be like you... we have to act first.... and act in faith that God will provide for us when we do what he ask us to do.... so next time you see somebody in need and you feel that knowing in the pit of your tummy to help.. do ask yourself if  you can... tell God that you will... and God will take care of the can.

9.6.10

Psalms 50:14-15 (God said) "Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High.  Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue, and you will give me glory."

My Thoughts
I was thinking about how the Children of Israel  they were busy, busy, busy all the time making sacrifices to God... they had to grow the prefect animals... then travel miles it took lots of work to give their sacrifices... then drain the blood from the animal.... and cook that huge animal.... All we have to do is be thankful... not just be thankful but tell God how thankful we are... we need to be aware of all the things in our lives that we are thankful for.... this is no trouble at all we just have to be mindful.... and God says that this can be our sacrifice... and in return we can call on God anytime we are in trouble he will be right there for us.... we also need to remember, be totally aware that all the times that our troubles got all better. and they always do, that is was God who took care of those troubles ... and we need to give God the glory.... I believe that this is why we have the desire in us to be noticed when we do something that is great or wonderful  or something that is small... so that we have the ability to realize how important it is to God that we are totally aware of all that has done and is doing for us.... we can be thankful when we wake up.. when we are cooking, when we are driving.. when we look over at someone we love and have that feeling that fills our heart... when we are just getting to sit and enjoy the quite... when we can move because we don't feel good... when we lay down to sleep at night... we need to remember to thank God always, always, always. When we follow God's commands it is for us to keep us safe... when we are thankful it is all for Him!

9.5.10

Psalms 100:4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise.

My Thoughts
I have heard this verse forever... it is one I recognize... but today is the first time that I totally completely got it... We don't know when our last day is... we don't know when Jesus is coming back... the only way to be sure and ever God's presence with thanksgiving and praise is to be in constant prayer with God... telling Him all the time... in the good moments and the bad moments "Thank you God".... to be telling God all the time "I praise you God.".... I know that this seems impossible to do... there is so much to do... so much to think about... but God tells us He will take care of us... so when you feel your mind going to worry... that is a moment that we can be in telling God how much we love him... how much we thank him... when we start having thoughts of judgment of others that is a time that we can be thanking God and praising God... we you feel yourself about to talk about somebody else that is another time you can be thanking God and praising God... that is a huge part of our day!  The only way to make sure that we enter the gates of heaven with thanksgiving... and praise is to do it all the time... ALL  the time.... If we are in constant thankfulness and praise then God is present in our life to take care of the things we never change with worry.

8.4.10

Ecclesiastes 7:14 Enjoy prosperity while you can, but then when hard times strike, realize that both come from God.  Remember nothing is certain in this life.

My Thoughts
It is so hard to realize that hard times do sometimes come from God... in the hard times we need to remember to praise God and thank God... and ask God what he wants us to learn from our situation... because what we learn in the hard times prepare for our lives in the future... the hard times make us strong... we may be going through a hard time now... to be strong enough to handle something bigger that is coming... and if we learn from the hard time we are in now...maybe what we learn will keep the something bigger from defeating us... it's is probably much like when we spank our child for getting in the road (now that spanking is a hard time for them)... but this spanking prepared them for when the transfer truck would be coming down the road... and that little bit of a hard time... saved them from something much bigger than a spanking... We have no idea when a bad time comes along if its one of those times God is preparing us... but God knows... so we need to stop and say "Okay God, I am listening, what do you need me to learn form this... thank you so much God for preparing me for what lies ahead."... Just like a child may never understand that you saved them from that truck... we may never know what God saved us from... but you better believe that God is constantly saving us from dangers that we had no idea were there... and for this we need to be very, very grateful... Today my prayer will be "Thank you God for preparing me for bigger things, thank you God for saving me from the dangers that I never saw coming.... and that I never knew passed."

9.3.10

Ecclesiastes 6:11 The more words that you speak, the less they mean.  So what good are they.

My Thoughts
Have you even know one of those people that hardly ever talk... they walk around so quite you hardly know they are there...but at the same time their presents is almost overpowering... they are always there.... then they speak... in a quiet tone... just a quick sentence and you so hope you heard it all because when they talk they always say something wise... Then never talk to break the silence, in fact they seem to enjoy the silence... but when they do speak  you realize that they have always been listening ..... they know everything that is going on... they never speak out of turn... they never interrupt....  then finally they speak .and their wisdom moves mountains somehow...wow if we could all be like that.

William Penn, the American colonist who Pennsylvania was named for, gave this list of rules to regarding conversation:

"Avoid Company where it is not profitable or necessary, and in those occasions, speak little and last."
"Silence is wisdom where speaking is folly, and always safe."

"Some are so foolish as to interrupt and anticipate those that speak instead of hearing and thinking before they answer, which is uncivil, as well as silly."

"If thou thinkest twice before thou speakest once, thou wilt speak twice the better for it."

"Better to day nothing than not to purpose. And to speak pertinently, consider both what is fit, and when it is fit, to speak."

"In all debates, let the truth be they aim, not victory or an unjust interest; and endeavor to gain, rather then to expose, they antagonist."

I bet William Penn knew this Bible verse, and I bet he was one of those quiet people that people listened to when he did speak.... I should really work on this!!!

9.2.10

Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

My Thoughts
I love the word always here!!... God is always ready to help.... if we make God a part of our lives every day... if we start out our days reading his word.... if we soak all of what God is in each day ...then we are much more able to remember that God is always, always there right beside us.... He will help us when we need Him, and we always need Him... God just waits on use to want His help.... Remember in all that you do that God is always right there to help you... to help you with the words you speak, the actions you take, to help you with the work you do, the day you face... there to help you in times of great things and in times of trouble...God is there!

9.1.10

Job 42:8 (God said) So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves.  My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has."

My Thoughts
This is what I learned today... first let me tell you  part of what I do in the mornings... I read my daily Bible reading from my one year Bible and I read a section... usually they are a page ... from The Power of Praying Through the Bible.. by Stormie Omartian.... today she, Stormie explained about the verse she quoted that the Bible makes it "crystal clear that if we have any unforgiveness, bitterness, selfishness, pride, anger, irritation. or resentment in our hearts, our prayers will not be answered. Our hearts have to be right when we pray." ... then I had read this verse above in my daily Bible reading... I have been praying for God to teach me how to pray for others... and this was such a good example of how to pray for others... I have a person dear to my heart that has these sad thing in their heart... I know they often pray in desperation... so today I prayed for God to forgive them of their angry, bitterness, irritation and resentment... (after I ask for forgiveness for my self) so that God could hear their prayers today....and so that they could feel God's presence in their lives at least for a while... and that, that moment of feeling God's presents during their prayers today would help them grow a little closer to God, give them a bit more hope about life....I am hoping that praying on their behalf each day... as Job did for his friends will give the more moments each day... bigger, longer moments... moments that will free their spirits up to feel God's complete, perfect love... I think that I learned something huge today!!
