I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Acts 20:35 (Paul said) And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard.  Your should remember the words for the Lord Jesus: "It is more blessed to give then to receive."

My Thoughts
We live in such a ME world today that it is so easy to get lost in the things we want and the things we think we need.... but when we open our eyes we don't have to look very far at all to find someone else in need... I have read more that once if we need something the best thing in the world to do is find someone else that is in need and help them.... If we do this one of two things will happen either God will bless us for helping another person even in our own time of need or we will find out that what we thought we needed wasn't such a need after all.  God blesses us when we give... we can choose the "blessing" of the world by grabbing at everything we can get our hands on or we can receive God's blessings by going out and finding ways to do for others.  One of God's blessing is providing us with all our needs... and God also gives us peace that passes all understanding... when we do for others we are storing up God's grace, and God's favor.  Is there anything better to invest our time or our money in??

Psalm 147:13-14 For he as strengthened the bars of your gates and blessed your children within you walls.  He sends peace across your nation and satisfies your hunger with the finest wheat.

My Thoughts
God blessed Israel over and over  (in the Bible) when they did what God asked... and when they didn't do what God asked bad things happened to Israel.  God has blesses America in the past with wonderful things... vast land, new industry, prosperity. favor with other nations... when our founders came to this great place they came to be able to serve God!... to worship God in the way that they thought was right and good... and God blessed us for that... he made the US a strong force to be reckoned with... God will continue to bless America... but to get those blessings we have to follow God!!... it is a must for the health of our nation... for the future of our children and our grandchildren... to do this we must each as Christians set an example of doing good, doing what is right... choosing to find favor with God over favor with people... we must spend time in prayer for our country each and every day, for our families, our children, ourselves... asking forgiveness for ourselves and  for the sins of the people that don't know to ask or that just don't ask... we must live like we know that our lives are the only Bible some people ever read... we need to look to God and say God I love you, I will follow you, I stand before you at the crossroads and ask forgiveness for the sins of our country.... I pray God that others will do the same and stand with me.... this is a must if we want our children and their children to know what it is like to live in prosperity and in freedom... Please join me and let us remember to pray for our great nation... pray like you know that prayer and service to God is what will keep us great! Pray for our nation every day... every single day.  Prayer changes things!

6.28.30

Psalms 146:5-6 Don't put your confidence in powerful people: there is no help for you there.  When they breathe their last, they return to earth, and all their plans die with them.

My Thoughts
So often we do put our plans in others... we depend on other people... we can put all our hopes and dreams on man... if only we could learn to channel that energy toward our faith in God... Not only will man die and his plans die with him... man often changes his mind or the person we put our hopes and dreams on  have their hopes and dreams on somebody else... and so on and then when one of those people fail, or die all the dominoes fall... including ours.  God is forever... always has been always will be and God doesn't let you in on the plan because it will benefit him and then forget about you when all he needs from you is done... God has only your best interest at heart! ... and on top of that God is all knowing all powerful and he doesn't make mistakes about your best interest!... if we just learn to be in tune with the plans God has for our lives... to trust him with the next step when only he knows the plans... to hear God when he speaks to us our lives will be better and better and better... and God, God will be around long after we are gone... and God has our best interest in mind... God loves us beyond what we can even imagine... God wants us to succeed... next time you find yourself trusting in a persons plans... stop and say.. God what is your plan? See where God takes you!

6.27.10

Acts 18:9-11 One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, "Don't be afraid! Speak out! Don't be silent! For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me." So Paul stayed there for the next year and a half, teaching the word of God.

My Thoughts
I think often we don't speak out for God in places like work... we want to follow the rules... and we break God's rules in doing so... God will be with us if we choose his rules to protect... and if we choose God's rules to protect we are being a witness for God.  Often there are lots of people that want to follow God's rules over the rules of work but are afraid to stand up themselves... but when we are brave and do what God ask of us in the face of "human rules" God is with us and it gets other people on board.  A dear friend of my told  me about being assigned a new job at work... and she told her manager that there were things she couldn't do if she took this job... and that if he was not comfortable with the things she couldn't do he could feel free to ask somebody else.... he choose her for the job and was happy about the things she wouldn't do... those things had made him uncomfortable too... he enjoyed letting her take the credit  for following what God wanted over what work wanted, but he supported her 100%... There are many ways to be a witness for God.... choosing what God wants over what man wants is one of the most powerful.

6.26.10

Psalms 144:9 I will sing a new song to you, O God! I will sing your praises with a ten-stringed harp.

My Thoughts
We love when people notice what we do for them... it makes us feel so good it makes us feel noticed. God wants us to notice what he does for us!...  David sang a new song to God... because God was always doing new things for David... God is always doing new things for us... It is not good enough to just say thank you for all you do God... we need to sing new songs to God... we need to thank God for the new things he does for us each day.  You know how we develop a phrase when something goes good... we say "alright!" or we high five our buddies.... our phrase when something goes good in our day... when something great happens should be "thank you God"... a new "thank you" for the new thing God has done!  I am going to work on this... new praises for God each day for the new things God keeps doing in my life!

6.25.10

Acts 16:34 He brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God.

My Thoughts
These people rejoiced because they all believed in God... what a wonderful thing to rejoice about... if we believe in God we believe that Jesus wiped away all our sins... we get to live forever!!... God will bless us in all that we do when we live in his will.... we have the Holy Spirit living within us to guide our steps... to help us  make decisions... God loves us bigger and greater than we know how to love and that is so exciting!... just think of those moments when you knew your parents loved you with all their heart and were so proud of you, or when you kids were little and they looked up at you with this amazing love that just melted you all over... or when you feel in love with someone and knew without a doubt that they loved you back with all their being... wasn't that something to celebrate!... God's love is bigger and wider and stronger than all those feeling rolled up into one ... now that is something to be celebrating!  How blessed are we!

6.24.10

Psalms 142:1-2 I cry out to the Lord; I plead for the Lord's mercy.  I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles.

My Thoughts
When we talk to God we tend to tell God what we think he wants to hear... oh we tell him the sins we have committed and ask forgiveness and sometimes that IS hard to do.  We ask God to be with people that we love and the people that we have promised to pray for.... and that is a good thing!!... but we forget that God knows our every thought and feeling and we can even complain to God.  I think that maybe sometimes we sin by talking about other people because we have to complain sometimes...and if we remember that God knows anyway we can complain to God... We can say God this person was mean to me today and it makes me mad!  God it isn't fair that I am ask to do this at work and nobody else is.  We can say God why does my mom expect this of me.  We can say I don't like the way my friend treated me today it just isn't right.  We can say these things to God and God hears us... he know those thought anyway...talk to God about them!  If we talk to God about our complaints about others then we will be less likely to talk about those people at work, or the ball field or even church.  If we complain to God we won't say something to somebody else that can get taken out of context or spread around to other people...and  if we complain to God, God actually has the power to do something about it.  God wants us to talk to him about everything in our lives, everything!  I am going to learn to take even my complaints and my troubles to God. I bet Jesus complained to God about how we people acted!

6.23.10

Psalms 141:3 Take control of what I say, O Lord, and guard my lips.

My Thoughts
This should be our prayer all the time!... what we say, the words that come out of our mouths are so important... we can build up or destroy with our words... we change our own spirit with the words that come from our mouths.... we should always be mindful or our words, once they are out of our mouths they have already done the damage if they are harsh or unkind.  We should make a joyful noise to the Lord...all that comes from our mouth should be words that would make God happy... if we do that then our words would never be harmful to others.

6.22.10

Proverbs 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength.

My Thoughts
Being cheerful or being broken that is a choice.... don't quit reading... I have been broken and it doesn't feel like a choice, I know!... but this verse says to be that it is a choice!... when we are down it is hard to look up but we can!... we can take one step this minute to choose something to be thankful for... when we look at what we have, what God has given us it gives us a cheerful heart... and that cheerful heart shines a light so bright in our heart that it can heal all the broken-ness!!... It truly can... you have to decide to be cheerful... you have to say God wants me to choose to be happy... God I choose to be happy (the devil loves it when we choose to be broken!). When I get so far down that it is hard to look up I make myself make a list of 100 things I am thankful for... 100... when you take the time to think of 100 things that you are thankful for it will lift your spirits... it truly will and that choice to be thankful is the medicine that starts healing that broken place in your spirit... I pray that you don't feel broken today!!... I pray that if you do  you will start making that list... as a prayer of thanksgiving to God for all that you are thankful for... I pray when you finish your list that you will truly feel your heart healing... then I pray that you take one more step and find something to keep yourself busy so that you don't let the devil pull you back into despair!!... I pray that you list of the good things in your life will bring you strength and bring you close enough to God so that you feel his healing spirit upon your spirit.... I pray that you can muster up the strength to choose a cheerful heart!

6.21.10

Psalms 139:24 (God) Point out anything in me that offends you, and leads me along the path of everlasting life.

My Thoughts
I think oh what a scary thing to ask God!!...but you know God already knows!... Psalms 139:1 says O Lord, your have examined my heart and know everything about me. So God already knows what is in us that offends him!... To become closer to God we need to be brave enough, and willing to know what is in us that offends God... and if we know, if we ask God to tell us we can change it!.. but if we are afraid we will keep offending God... and God will know even if we don't.  Be brave... ask God!.. then you can ask forgiveness... and move forward.. awareness is a powerful thing... and remember God already knows and God loves us anyway!... If we are brave and face our fear... and lean what we are doing that offends God we can quit doing it and remove the very things that are getting in the way of the wonderful blessings God has in store for us!

6.20.10

Psalms 138:7 Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me form the anger of my enemies.  You reach our your hand and the power of your right hand saves me.

My Thoughts
God doesn't tell us that we won't have troubles... but God does tell us that he will be with us in times of troubles... and if we call on him God will not let people take advantage of us when we are down... God will not let the enemy keep us down... God has the power in his right hand alone to reach down and save us!  We just have to ask... God is polite he doesn't come without being invited... My picture of him up in heaven when we are struggling is God sitting there leaned over watching us with his hand there waiting to catch us... waiting to push our enemies away... like a child sweeps away tiny plastic army men...and he is whispering under his breath... ask me... come on now ask me...I am right here waiting to help you!!!...I can do it with just the sweep of my hand... just ask.... God is anxious to help us!!!... We should never wonder "will God help me?"  "I just haven't been good enough to ask!!".. "Do I matter to God?"  "Is this problem too little for God to care about?"  no we should never wonder... God is waiting!!  Just ask...just say the words "God help me with this!"  if you are in constant contact with God he know you want his help... if you have been apart from God... trouble is your open door to call out to him and invite him back to be a part of helping you though your troubles... just keep God there when you get out of trouble... God is always there, watching and waiting with his hand ready to reach down and save us!!... How awesome is that!!

6.19.10

Acts 13:15b "Brothers, if you have any word or encouragement for the people, come and give it.

My Thoughts
We need always to be encouraging to others!... we need to go to Church and be encouraged... encouraged to do the things that God ask of us.  Lifted up to do the right things.  We need to remind each other of God's perfect grace, God's perfect strength, God's perfect love... the blessings of God.  When we feel the urge to encourage others we don't need to be afraid... God will give us the words.  We need to spend time in God's word becoming wiser and wiser in what God wants so that we can be an encouragement to others.  We need to all do our part to help others advance the Kingdom of God.

6.18.10

Proverbs 17:14 Starting a quarrel is like opening a floodgate, so stop before a dispute breaks out.

My Thoughts
There are so many ways to start a quarrel... spreading gossip can start a quarrel... telling someone what somebody has said about them.... reacting in anger to an innocent comment somebody makes because you have had a bad day can start a quarrel... just being hateful can start a quarrel... being impatient can start an argument...and the list goes on and on. The Bible tell us not to do these things... we are suppose to be patient and kind.  We are not  suppose to be jealous or boastful or proud or rude. We are  not suppose to demand our own way. We are not suppose to be irritable, or  keep record of being wronged. We are not suppose to rejoice about injustice but we are suppose to rejoices whenever the truth wins out. We should never gives up, never loses faith,  always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance (1 Cor. 13:4-7).  Right here in Proverbs is tell us not to start an argument...and in 1 Corinthians it pretty much tells us how to act so that we won't do that! The devil loves to get inside you head with thought that incite an argument... we just have to tell ourselves that we won't believe that lie! (Beth Moore) And if we don't act on what the lie the devil tells us we won't start that argument! A good example of this could be... Your spouse is busy and you say something to them and they don't respond.  The devil will tell you they are ignoring you, they don't even care about what you have to say.  But the truth is they are just in their own world and didn't really hear you. If you walk over and touch them on the shoulder and say it again they will respond. Be mindful of the devils lies and act on what the Bible tells us... don't start that argument...don't set  up a situation for someone to be mad at someone else....if you have to talk about something someone did to you at work find someone that doesn't know that person so you won't set up a situation at work that could start an argument.  Be aware of what God wants and react with that in mind.  I promise your day will be blessed when you choose to do the right thing.

6.17.10

Proverbs 17:9 Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends.

My Thoughts
You know when somebody hurts our feeling and we can't get it off our minds... so we think about it, and think about it... we just get completely obsessed... not only does it effect our love or feelings for that person it effect out ability to love  and be loving to all the other people around us.  Our unforgiveness eats us up... like a cancer that is growing that we can't take control of... days go by and that is all we are thinking of.  It is amazing, amazing what speaking the words out loud I forgive can do.. you don't even have to say it to them...often the other person doesn't even know you are upset...just speak the words out loud to God... God I forgive ______ for_______.  Then when you feel yourself obsessing again, say those words again.  When you do this you are inviting God to take over...and putting up a shield that doesn't let the devil in! Sometimes you have to do it over and over and over... but do it over and over and over and let that forgiveness heal you spirit so that you are free to love the people around you.

6.16.10

Acts 10:34-35 Then Peter replied, "I see very clearly that God shows on favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.

My Thoughts
It doesn't matter who we are... or who anybody else is... if we love God... if we fear (profound reverence and awe) God he loves us!.. God shows no favoritism he loves us all ... all who love him! In every nation... all the world he loves the people who love him... he accepts us all... not matter what we have done or who we are if we cry out to God and do what is right God loves us.  The amazing thing about God is that he loves us the same when we are first learning... as he loves those great, great men of God who were almost born knowing how to do what is right in God's sight!... All we have to do is try... to study so we can grow in wisdom of God's desires for us... but all we have to do for God's all powerful love it try!  How exciting is that!!

6.15.10

Psalms 133:1-2  How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony. For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron's head, that ran down his beard and into the border of his robe.

My Thoughts
Harmony is a pleasing combination of elements in a whole..this was the definition that I liked for this verse..it just made sense to me... if we embrace each other's differences and know that those differences work together to serve the Lord we can accomplish so much more.  God made us all different for a reason and if we understand that oh the wonderful things we can do! All the keys on a piano make a different sound but together make beautiful music.  God is pleased with us if we embrace each other's differences.. our differences are precious because God made each and every one of us... We need to love our neighbors as ourselves not for who we want them to be but for who they are. Love and acceptance are precious to God... we should strive for harmony so that it comes together for the good of the Lord.

6.14.10

Acts 9:31 The church then had peace throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and it became stronger as the believers lived in the fear of the Lord. And with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it also grew in numbers.

My Thoughts
In this passage fear means profound reverence. Reverence means: A feeling of profound awe and respect and often love.  We too can become stronger when we have profound awe, and respect and love for God. When we take time to spend time with God.  When we learn listen to the Holy Spirit inside us guiding us to make the right decisions.  The more time we spend with God, thanking him, learning what he wants for us and from us, telling God we love him,  the more we know when it is the Holy Spirit guiding us and our thoughts to do the right things to make the right choices. The more we listen to the Holy Spirit the stronger we will be!  The easier it will be to do the right thing over the popular thing.  Do you want to be a stronger person, respect and love God and listen to the encouragement of the Holy Spirit living inside you!

6.13.10

Acts 9:15 But the Lord said, "Go for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel.

My Thoughts
This is Saul that was about to become Paul who preached and taught to so many people! He listened when God spoke and he made a difference in the world!  We are taught in Mark 16:15 to Go into the whole world and preach the gospel, this is as much our job as it was Paul's job.  We are the only Bible some people see. We should live in a way that people see God in us!  We should each find our own way to tell people how much God care for them!... It is our job to teach people how much God loved them. To do this we must be the love that God sends!  Find your way to teach others about God!

6.12.10

Proverbs 17:3 Fire test the purity of silver and gold, but the Lord test the heart.

My Thoughts
From what I understand, and if I am wrong please tell me!  Gold melts at such high temperatures that the other thing in the gold melts first and that way you know that gold is not pure... but you can use heat to separate gold from the impurities to make the gold  about 99% pure.  You can also use heat to mold gold into new shapes.  God knows our heart, God knows the impure things in our heart and God can test our heart to see what is there that doesn't belong.  God can also remove the bad from our hearts by his grace... isn't that exciting if we expose our hearts to God, just like if we expose gold to heat, our hearts can get purer and purer... just like the longer you expose gold to heat the purer it gets, the longer we expose our hearts to God the purer our hearts get.  Can we be 100% perfect, no... but we can do our best to be pure, we can expose our hearts to God and he can remold us into the people he wants us to be.

6.11.10

Psalms 129:4 But the Lord is good; he as cut me free from the ropes of the ungodly.

My Thoughts
God is good.  God does take care of us and set us free! God helps us when we deal with the ungodly.  But we have to do our part first, we have to learn what God wants from us.  The important thing to remember is that the things God ask us to do are the things that will make our lives better.  Just as rule of parents are to make the lives of their children better.  But God is perfect in his rules and promises. The author of God's Little Devotion Book but it well when he said "Many people want to experience the fullness of God's promises in their lives, but they are unwilling to do the work that goes along with most of the Bible's promises.  Most of God's promises are in-then statements....if we do one thing, God will do another.  Our part nearly always comes first!  One of the biggest things that we have to do is learn what the promises of God are!... when we know what God promises us we know what we can ask for.  If we are doing what God ask (this is important so listen carefully) If we are doing what God ask then he doesn't have to protect people from us, he can protect us from the ungodly, God can be on our side when we do our part.

6.10.10

Proverbs 16:32 Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self control than to conquer a city.

My Thoughts
Wow... now this is a powerful verse!  Great me through out history, powerful men... great warriors... that are remembered in history book, in the Bible.  But we do more than that be being patient and having self control.  Now I can hear you saying as you read this "I am just not a patient person" and I will agree patients comes easier to some than others, but patients is a choice, self control is a choice.  It is called self control because you yourself can choose to control how you behave and act.  So today when you are feeling impatient on the inside, remember it is better than power to show patients with others and yourself on the outside... Take control of yourself and act in a way that would please God.

6.9.10

Proverbs 16:28 A troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends.

My Thoughts
This verse made me think about how sad it is that God has given us so much!! We have so much that we often have lots of free time on our hands... I know I know that you are thinking "what free time?" but apparently we have lots of free time everywhere.  Because gossip abound everywhere!... we should spend our free time honoring God... doing things that would make God proud of us... making a joyful noise spreading gossip and planting seeds of strife.  There is gossip in families, at church, at work, among friends... just think of we got busy doing for God, praising God. talking with God how much more God would give us back... and look at how much we loose because we spend out free time in gossip.

6.8.10

I Kings 3:9-10 Give me and understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong.  for who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?" The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for wisdom.

My Thoughts
It goes on to tell us in verse 14 that God also gave Solomon riches and fame because Solomon asked for wisdom... wisdom is important in our lives!... wisdom of what God wants for our lives... God wants us constantly learning and growing... the wiser we are, the smarter we are the more creditability we have with others... the more opportunity we have to advance God's Kingdom. When we are then wise enough to give God the credit for the wonderful things in our lives other people see how good God is and want what we have..it gives us a chance to be a witness for God...and that makes God happy.

6.8.10

I Kings 2:3 "Observe the requirements of the Lord your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go."

My Thoughts
This is what David told his son Solomon just before he died. Solomon did as David told him and God blessed him beyond measure!... Jesus tells us what God expects of us in the New Testament, we are to love God with all our heart, soul and mind and love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22: 37-39). We are to give thanks to God for all things. (I Thessalonians 5:18). Just as God blessed Solomon, and the Children of Israel when they did what God ask, God will bless us when we do what God ask. What better thing than to be blessed by God! To know what God ask of us we need to read and study his words so that they will be so much a part of our heart that we constantly away that the choices we make are choices that would make God happy. How much more do you do for your own children when you feel happy!... God loves being happy with us... he loves showering us with his blessings. Today when you are making a decision ask yourself would this make God happy before you move forward!.

6.6.10

I Kings 1:29 & 30 And the king repeated his vow. "As surely as the Lord lives, who has rescued me from every danger, your son Solomon will be the nest king and will sit on my throne this very day just as I vowed to you before the Lord, the God of Israel."

My Thoughts
God loved King David very much, just as he loved us very much.  Yet David found himself in danger many times but every time God rescued David.  David tells us this here in the scriptures that the Lord rescued him from every danger.  This says to me that our life won't always be easy even when we love the  Lord our God with all our might, just as David loved God.  But if we love God with all our might he will save us from any danger that comes our way.  God will step in and protect us.  God watches over his people and when we call out to God, as David called out to God, he will be there to rescue us from every danger.

6.5.10

Proverbs 16:21 The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive.

My Thoughts
I think these words are so important. We can  not lead people to God by telling them everything we think they are doing wrong.  My fussing at them.  By putting them down.  We lead people to God by being sweet and kind.  By being there when they need us.  We lead people to God by being pleasant!  By listening and encouraging people to make wise choices.  We lead people to God by being loving, by being like Jesus.  Just think how different these two sentences sound "OH YOU should have NEVER done THAT it's WRONG!" or the understanding version "I can see why you might have acted like that, but next time you are presented with the same situation you might want to try this?"  We need to choose our words carefully, we need to be pleasant to be persuasive. When we present ourselves as judgemental and better than we loose all creditability and put people on the defensive.  People on the defensive then justify their actions and convince themselves what they did is right, they stand firm so they won't loose face.  If we want to be persuasive we need to be understanding and kind. We need to not judge but steer gently with small nudges and words of great encouragement.  Which person would you want to listen to?

6.4.10

II Samuel 2:19-20 They (my enemy) attacked me at a moment when I was in distress, but the Lord supported me.  He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me.

My Thoughts
God wants to take care of us!... I see this verse through the eyes of a parent... when our children are small we can sit for hours just watching them... we just delight in their learning, their play, in all that they do.  We are there watching over them and if they stumble we are right there to help them... to pick them up... to wipe them off... to move them to safety.  But there sometimes comes a day when we try to help them and they push us away... they want to do it all on their own... God is like that he watches over us without slumber... he watches over us all the time...and wants to protect us from anything that wants to harm us!.. He will protect us.. take us to a place where its safe because he loves us so much.  Just remember when we push God away too much then he steps back and waits for us to call on him for help... just like we do with our children.  But as soon as we say "help me God I need you" God is right there to keep us safe. Isn't is awesome to have someone there.. to have God there to take care of us, to watch over us, to lead us to a place of safety.  Isn't it awesome that God delights in us... how special is that!

6.3.10

Psalms 121:1-3 I look up to the mountains- does my help come form there?  My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.

My Thoughts
God will not sleep... he watches over us all the time... day and night!... Will we have some hard times? Yes sometimes things will be hard! Live Happens! But if we let God be in control of our life... if we let God take the wheel... God will not let us stumble... God will hold on to us tight and take care of us... God will keep us strong!... God wants to know that we want him to help so we have to tell him.... God I need you .. I need your help...  Psalms 50:15 says "Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory."  God does not slumber... He is there for you, always!...  Don't look to earthly things, don't depend on what you think you know, look to God who made heave and earth and God can and will get you through anything. When God gets you through, and he will when you ask, remember it is important to give God the glory to thank Him for being that in our valleys and on our mountain tops!

6.2.10

John 21:25 Jesus also did many other things.  If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written.

My Thoughts
It is amazing how much you miss when you don't read the Bible for yourself... I know because this is the first time I have done this...I have relied on the preacher, or Sunday School for what I have known about God's word...  a little reading here or there... but now I am almost half way through the Bible... and I am totally blown away, amazed and what I am learning...and so excited to learn more and start over again... then I come across this passage and find out there is so much that Jesus did that we will never know... so much he taught, so much that he said... wow to see and read the book that the world could not contain, now wouldn't that be amazing... If there is one thing in this world that I could encourage people to do is to get them a One Year Bible or a Two Year Bible and take time every day to read it... it will change you in ways that you never dreamed... it will make your life choices easier to make... the blessing you will receive are beyond measure... you know how Christmas made the Grinch's heart grow... well the Bible and prayer will do just that to your heart!.. let God's word be the change people see in you.

6.1.10

Psalms 119:176 I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me, for I have not forgotten your commands.

My Thoughts
When I think of this verse I see a person looking for somebody they have lost and calling out to them... then the lost person hears them and calls out "help" and the person looking hears the call for help  and goes to them to save them.  When we have wandered from God he calls to our heart all the time... God calls by nudging us, reminding us of right and wrong... God is there in the shadows where we have put him waiting only on us to call out to him... and as soon as we call out to God he is right there to take care of us... God gives us his commands not to make life hard but to make life so much easier!... Its like when we tell our children to stay out of the road... that isn't to make their life hard it is to make their life safe... God's give us rules to keep us safe, to help us prosper, to keep us strong...and when we follow his commands we don't get lost in the woods.  But God is so great, so gracious, so forgiving that if we get lost from the path all we have to do is call out to him and he will rescue us... he will help us get back on the right path... he will say yes you have suffered while you were lost but now lets move forward together and I will bless you...God doesn't let us forget his commands so that we can call out when we are lost! How wonderful is that!
