I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

9.27.10

Ephesians 5:10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.

My Thoughts
Wow! … to be such a tiny sentence this verse is huge… it says to me we are to carefully plan out our day… we are to carefully watch our thoughts… we are to carefully speak our words…. It says we have no excuses for acting on impulse… we are to go about our life carefully determining our actions and our words so that all that we do will please God… and to be able to carefully determine what pleases God we need to know his word… we need to be in constant conversations with God… we need to be open to listening to God as he speaks to us through the Holy Spirit living inside of us… when we have that gut feeling that something we are about to do or about to say is wrong we should not do it or say it…. If we start reasoning with ourselves about something we need to stop and say am I trying to reason with the Holy Spirit?… and stop and hear what the Holy Spirit is telling us to do… when we think “I really should do ___________.”, then we need to stop as ask ourselves “Is this something God is telling me to do?”…. We need to carefully determine what pleases the Lord… if we carefully determine what pleases the Lord and act on those things then we can’t go wrong!
