I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

7.6.12

Psalms 4:4 Don't sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent.

My Thoughts
This does not say don't sin by being angry... we are all going to get angry at some point .... and sometimes we need to be angry when we see injustice in the world.  Sometimes anger bring about wonderful change.  What we don't need to do is let anger control us.. control our words.. cause us to act out in a way that we will regret later.  So often if we would just keep our mouth shut... send up a prayer to God and ask Him to help us with our thoughts...and our words.. when we wake up we find that we are not even angry any more.  How many marriages, friendships, relationships could be saved if we didn't let anger control us??

We can learn to recognize the signs of anger in our bodies... in our minds.. if we pay close attention.  Then we can learn to react by sending up a prayer to God and making the decision to talk about what upsets us tomorrow... after God has had time to work on our heart, our words.

We choose to give up control to anger.. and we have the choice to take that control back and give that anger to God... God knows every body's heart. God knows the whole situation. God will set our minds and hearts right if we just give Him the chance...if we choose not to sin by letting anger take control of our actions and words.
