I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Romans 13:14 Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.  And don't let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.

My Thoughts
Every time the Bible says clothe yourself...I think of how this takes effort, decision making, choosing just what we are going to ware.  When we put our clothes on we have first decided to get dressed. Then we make a choice in what we are going to ware.  Then it takes an effort to get those clothes on. For healthy people this is easy, for unhealthy  some days this can be an almost impossible task.

It is the same way with clothing ourselves in the presence of Jesus.  It is a a decision we make, an effort.  For healthy Christians it is almost automatic ... for unhealthy Christians it takes a lot more determination to make the time.  We must know God's word to be able to think on it all the time.  The devil is always busy, busy bombarding our thoughts with his thinking, making us think that they are out thoughts.  We can overcome these thoughts if we  have God's words stored in our minds and our hearts.  It is our choice to listen to what the devil tells us and then to dwell on those thoughts... or we can choose to clothe our minds with the presence of Jesus.

I find that the more I read and understand God's word the more I am able to draw on it. The more I know recognize the enemy!  The more I hear the Holy Spirit prompting me.  God's word brings blessing to our lives...blessing bigger than our minds are capable of dreaming.  God's word has great power, power for us to use, to have access to... we have to know God's word to be able to assess the power of God. When we do amazing things will begin to happen in our lives!
