I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Romans 5:3-5  We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

My Thoughts
God so prepares us for all that we will have to go through here on this earth. That is why we should never think God has been unfair.  God needs to prepare us all in different ways... It is like a wood carver who builds a chair for strength .... some wood takes more effort to carve... some wood can be carved very gently.... but both pieces need to be shaped into something strong...it takes more effort to make one chair stronger than it does the other. But the strenth of both chairs is necessary  We even get the concept that children learn about death from pets... and that prepares them for the death of people later in their lives. The most important thing we do in life is have faith in God and his existence... faith that Jesus died for our sins....for my sins, for your sins. So that we can live forever in heaven with God and Jesus.  So sometimes when bad things are happening... God does not rescue us until we call our so that our faith in Him will not waver...and so that when we face much larger things in life we will be able to ask God for help ... to have the faith in God that we need.  I would have never gotten through the death of my mom had I not had God's presence so strong in my life.... I would have crashed...had a mental breakdown.... but God put me in places where my faith in Him would be strongest when I needed Him the most.... and if that took me enduring a few much smaller hardships along the way...I am so blessed that God cared enough for me to get me ready for what I had to face in the future. This verse...and the things I have been through make me know that next time a hardship comes along that I need to bow down to God and say... "Dear God I don't know what is comming up in my futrue..but thank you for preparing me... be with me and help me learn the lessons that I need to learn today to get through tomorrow. Thank you for careing for me so much that you prepare me for the things of this world." We know we have grown so much when we can cry out to God with thanks no matter what the circumstances are.
