I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Proverbs 12:27 Lazy people don't even cook the game they catch, but the diligent make use of everything they find.

My Thoughts

In the US we have so much!!... so so much!! and we tend to want more and more and more....you can go to thrift stores and see clothes with the tags still on them... there are storage buildings on every corner...I make cards and I have tons of paper to make cards with and I still want more... often times so I won't have to dig through what I have to find the right piece, I am not as organized as Hobby Lobby!!... I believe this verse is telling us to be mindful that God gives us what we have, everything we have is a gift from God and we should treat is as such... treasure it... like a child treasures their favorite blanket... use it until its worn out... search through what we have to find what we need before we go buy more... be good stewards of our things... then we will have more money to be good stewards of... we will have more when we see someone in need and we can help them and feel good about it... we need to treat what we have as just what it is A Gift From God.... have you ever seen someone throw something aside that was a gift you gave them, just like it didn't matter... it can hurt your feeling, make you angry, make you not want to give that person anything else ever again!!... we should never treat the things we have, the things God gave us in a way to make him upset at us... we should show our thankfulness by making "diligent use of everything we have"... I really need to work on this one!!
