I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.



This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

1.6.13

Matthew 5:47-48 (Jesus said) "If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that.  But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect."

My Thoughts
Be kind to everybody? Really!? What if God was not kind to us?  When we had not yet asked Jesus into our hearts, were we not an enemy of God then??  Yet God still loved us anyway. He loved us enough to send Jesus to die for our sins! God loved us when we didn't love Him.  What if God picked and chose who to love? What if God didn't love us all? What if we were one of the people that God didn't chose to put on His list?  It is not our choice to make, who deserves love.  Thank goodness it was not one of our enemies choices to make, if we deserved to be loved by God. We are commanded to be kind to every one. Verse 48 even says that we are to love our enemies...we are to even pray for them.  Thank goodness somebody prayed for us.
