I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Matthew 10:28 Don't be afraid of those who want to kill you body; they cannot touch your soul.  Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

My Thoughts
Wow those are powerful words.  I am a people pleas-er to a fault.  This makes me think of all those times I choose to do something I knew I shouldn't just so somebody would not, not like me. Which is different than wanting someone to just like you. If we are to choose God even if it means death, and we are, then we need to choose God over any earthly thing or pleasure, over any persons acceptance.

The next two verses tell us that we are more precious than the sparrows and God knows when they fall from the sky.  He knows the number of hairs we have on our head. Jesus tells us not to be afraid we are move valuable to God than a sparrow.  Another words God watches and He knows when we choose Him. When we choose God over anything else God notices, God knows!!  We have not gone unnoticed by God ever!  We should never ever think that choosing good is not worth it because no one notices... God always sees.

We must not ever give away our souls to please people, to have something, to keep up with the Joneses. Sometimes we think we don't have a choice...but we always have a choice, always!  We need to get so into the habit of asking God, "Is this ok?" that that question is an automatic response to every thing we do and everything we say.  That is what it is like to be in constant contact with God.

I have not been good at this... asking God about all my choices in a day. I want to start. I have learned to hear His answers when I do ask questions. I must admit that sometimes I don't ask because I don't want to hear the answer... I will do better, Jesus tells me that I must do better!!  I think I will put this in my phone as an hourly reminder, "Ask God!"
