I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

2.22.12

Psalms 39:1-5  I said to myself, “I will watch what I do and not sin in what I say. I will hold my tongue when the ungodly are around me.”  But as I stood there in silence— not even speaking of good things— the turmoil within me grew worse.  The more I thought about it, the hotter I got, igniting a fire of words:  “LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered— how fleeting my life is.  You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.”

My Thoughts
Even David had trouble keeping his mouth shut! When he could stand it no longer he talked to God.  Not people, God.  God gives us so many words... an ABC study showed that The women spoke 16,215 words a day, while men spoke 15,669. More often than not we use those words talking to each other... talking about. I wonder how much our lives would changed if we used half of those words to talk to God each day?

God called David a man after His own heart. Not because David never messed up, David messed up plenty! David was a man after God's own heart because he was always, always talking to God.

When we find ourselves wanting to say something in a crowd, just to be heard... that can be a reminder to us that those words can be saved up for God. The wonderful thing about talking to God is that He always listens.... He will listen to everything we need to say... even our frustrations... and when our thinking is out of line God will help us put everything back in order. When we talk to God it is never, ever a waste of words!
