I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

2.17.12

Psalms 36:7 How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.

My Thoughts
I love this verse... I get such a visual when I read it.... I see us as baby birds in a big nest and a storm coming... then the strong mother Eagle comes in and stretches out that vast wing over those babies...snuggling down ready for the storm...the babies are able to sleep because they know the are protected by the wings of their mother.

I leave in Alabama when the storm of April 11, 2011 came through they hit all around us... I was able to go out a couple of days with my church as they helped families We were in this one area where the destruction was like being in a war zone.  I talked to one man who told the story of his neighbors.  The couple were sitting at their kitchen table, unaware of how bad the weather was ... then the tornado came through. Within in minutes their house was gone almost nothing left standing.... yet that couple and their kitchen table remained in that spot in which they were sitting alive and well them and their kitchen table. Each time I read this verse I think of the wings of God spread out over this man and woman as they sat at their table... just the thought, after having been in that destruction, still overwhelms all my senses. I still can feel as in awe of God's power as I was when that man stood there and told me that story as a tear slipped from his eye and ran down his cheek.

God loves us so much .... we just have to choose to stay in that nest that He has built to keep us safe... that is our part... when we do that we can have victory over any storm that passes our way.
