I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Proverbs 21:20 The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get.

My Thoughts
We get our wisdom from God... from prayers and listening... and from reading his word... we get it from that feeling deep in our gut when we do things or when we are about to do something... that is God guiding us through the Holy Spirit living within us when we are Christians... When we make decision about our money we are to seek that wisdom... not make those decisions on a whim... not make those decisions on satisfying the human flesh... we are not to spend our money foolishly... we are to seek God... if you wonder if you should spend money... as we all do sometimes.. we say to ourselves "should I get this?", "can I really afford this?"... when you feel yourself asking those questions... say a prayer... stop and listen... pay attention to your gut... when you do what God ask you to do with your money... God will give you the wealth and luxury... but you have to do your part first... you have to prove yourself capable of handling what God wants to bless you with... we all know when we buy things we shouldn't... we all qualify purchases that we "can't afford" with an "I deserve" at times... when you have those feeling and thoughts, stop yourself, and ask God "can I afford this God?"... "do I really deserve this God?"...sometimes that answer will be yes... sometimes it will be no...sometimes it will be "not yet".... sometimes you will receive a question in return like "is that really how you need to spend that money?"... sometimes you will hear "you need to save that something might come up"... if you hear those questions I believe God is nudging you to prepare for the things He already knows is going to happen... and He is prompting you to save and be prepared... and God rewards you down the line when you listen... don't reward yourself before the fact... let God reward you after the fact...and see what blessing He has in store for you...they are much greater than the blessing you can imagine for yourself.. or you can afford for yourself.

Wonderful exhortation. You have a sweet gentle way of letting us all we need to stop and listen. Nice thoughts.
