I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

8.26.10

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.  He comfort us all in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.  When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

My Thoughts
We learn so much when we go through loss, or hardship... one of the things God teaches us at times like this is compassion for others... God sends people with the perfect words... people with wisdom that somehow gets us through the next step and the next... and God expects us to use that wisdom to help others... Just as God helped us.... this is one way that we can be a witness of God's great love.  So the next time you are urged to go to the funeral home, or the hospital... or to carry a plate of food to someone remember to act on that feeling... this may just be the time that God wants to pull from your storehouse of knowledge... this may be the time that you are the only person that has the words that somebody needs... this could be the very time God is using you to be the comfort in somebody's time of need... maybe you are afraid you won't have the right words... so many times when we walk in the room and somebody know that we have been through that same situation our mere presents is what bring great strength... Be the somebody that was there for you for somebody else.
