I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Proverbs 21:3 The lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just then when we offer him sacrifices.

My Thoughs
Before Jesus died on the cross for our sins people offered sacrifices to be clensed of their sins...and they offered sacrifices in praise of God and his wonderful glory... today, since Jesus died for our sins, we just have to ask forgiveness... and sing and speak praises to God.... and that makes God happy and pleased with us... but this verse tells us that it makes God even happier when he sees us trying... trying our very best ... and choosing to do what is right and just so that we don't have to ask for forgivness... God sent Jesus...and then sends the Holy Spirit to live inside of us so that we can be like Jesus... that means that being human is not an excuse for our sins... God has given us the ability not to sin if we learn what he wants us to do... and if we really try hard... are we going to mess up? probably!... but does being human give us an excuse to not even try? No... God always forgives when we ask... but God is more pleased if we live in a way that we hardly ever have to ask for his forgivness... make an effort today to go a  whole day without sin... and then see what you want to do with your day tomorrow.

Thanks for the reminder, I have been working on taking hold or control of my thoughts as the first step in obeying. Your words are a wonderful reminder to choose to obey and the joy it give to our Lord.
