I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Proverbs 22:24-25 Don't befriend angry people or associate with hot-tempered people, or you will learn to be like them and endanger your soul.

My Thoughts
We have all seen it happen, the work place is one of the most notable places to see this, someone gets upset and angry at the boss and then before you know it everybody is upset at the boss... people that were happy at their jobs are all the sudden very unhappy.  Anger spreads like weeds, it takes over.  We just need to be careful... we need to pay attention... it even says here that we need to stay away from angry people or hot-tempered people.  We need to find ways to remove ourselves from their presence or it can endanger our souls.

Once you become angry, you begin to see all the wrong in people, in work places, in families... in the world.  Anger can take over our lives. It can keep us from seeing the good in anything.  Angry is right where satin wants us.

God is good, and God is very present on this earth of ours.  We can find God everywhere we look, but not if we are angry.  God is good, God is love. God is where love comes from, happiness comes from that love.

The flip side to this scripture is that if we look for loving happy people to be around our souls can be protected.  We will feel loved then we will spread love.  Loving people are happy people and happy people see the beauty around them... they see the joy that is brought down by God.  Happy people overlook wrong and see the best.  Loving, happy people recognize God in the things around us, because God is where love comes from.

We need to see our souls as something that needs to be protected.  We can protect our souls by choosing the right friends, by removing ourselves from bad situations, by talking to God constantly throughout the day.  We can protect our souls by studying God's word so that we can better recognize the things that truly come from God.  We have to become aware that everything effects us, so everything matters. What we allow ourselves to be subjected to matters.  What we surround ourselves with effects our very souls, we need to surround ourselves with love!!
