1 Peter 3: 8-9 Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it
My Thoughts
I have never been one to pay back evil for evil... to be mean to somebody because they are mean to me... I have avoided them... did my best not to speak to them... walked around feeling so insulted and hurt by them... but to turn around and just be mean back I have never done... but that was not enough not to be mean back I should have been really sweet back, prayed for them... spoke blessings over them... did things to bless their day...this could be a really hard thing to do in some situations.... but can you imagine the impact we could have as a Christian if we reacted this way.... sure it may not change that person... but it could change a lot of the people looking on... watching how we react as Christians... it could change us!!... It would make God smile down on us... repay love for love, repay hurt for love, repay anger for love... God ask us to be loving in all situations... Jesus was loving in all situations even as he hung on the cross and people gambled for his clothes he re-payed them with love, asking forgiveness for them.... today how will you repay another person for their actions.... I hope that I choose love every time.
