I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

5.27.12

2 Samuel 12:26-28 Meanwhile, Joab was fighting against Rabbah, the capital of Ammon, and he captured the royal fortifications.  Joab sent messengers to tell David, "I have fought against Rabbah and captured its water supply.  Now bring the rest of the army and capture the city. Otherwise, I will capture it and get credit for the victory."

My Thoughts
Joab loved King David so much that he would not dare do anything that would make him seem to stand out above the King.  He would not do anything that made it look like the king's victory was his. This is how much we should love our king, God. We should never take credit for our accomplishments...because without God we would not been able to accomplish anything.  God is who gives us strength... God is who gives us knowledge, God is who puts the right people in our paths to help us accomplish things... God is who gives us solutions to our problems... God is why we are who we are... we are able to accomplish so much because we love and depend on God.  We should always make sure that God gets the credit for who we are and what we do because we love Him so much. We should love God even more than Joab loved King David!
