I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

4.27.11

Luke 23:34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.

My Thoughts
Forgiveness sometimes seems so hard! We can be so hurt or so broken we sometimes feel like we just can't forgive.  Jesus forgave...when Jesus forgave it was in the middle of great suffering... he had been beaten, carried his cross,  been nailed to the cross with huge spikes, his side had been pincered and Jesus asked forgiveness as he hung on the cross and soldiers gambled for his clothes.  Now if there was a time that we would have a hard time forgiving it would be then!!.. Yet Jesus forgave. We should always forgive. I have learned that God steps in where I fall short.  All I have to do is show the willingness to do something and God will take over.  The way I learned to forgive things I thought impossible to forgive is to start by speaking the words in my prayers.  I said them each day...over and over again...then God saw that I wanted to forgive and He stepped in with his grace... I found one morning as I was doing my forgives that I didn't need to say the hard one anymore... God had given me what I needed to forgive... I made the effort God made me able.  If Jesus can forgive while hanging on the cross in great pain and agony...surly we can forgive. We just have to start by opening our mouth.
