Joshua 24:27 Joshua said to all the people, "This stone had heard everything the Lord said to us. It will be a witness to testify against you if you go back on your word to God."
My Thoughts
When I read this I immediately thought of a verse I read just a few days ago... It was when Jesus was riding the donkey down the Mount of Olives and the people were shouting and singing praises to Jesus... the Pharisees among the crowd rebuked the people, the followers of Jesus and Jesus replied in Luke 19:40 "if they keep quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!"
Look at this...the stones, the actual earth was made by God for God. The earth can testify against us and the earth will praise Jesus if we don't!! What if earthquakes, and volcanoes erupting, what if tsunami's and hurricanes are the earth erupting with praise for God, because we haven't been praising God?
That is where my mind went when I read these verses. What if? The fact is whether I am right or not we are safer, we are protected when we love and praise God!!
When we sin it effects the people around us...and when we love God it effects the people around us...that is why it is so important as a nation we all love God. When we all come together and love God with all our hearts, souls and minds... our country thrives!! God makes our crops produce, our people succeed, our weather right and our country strong!! When we come together as a country and love God even the earth gets to rest because it doesn't need to do our praising for us!
