I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

6:3:12

1 John 3:11 This is the message we have heard for the beginning: We should love one another.

My Thoughts
Love one another is all throughout the Bible.  God is love... God loves us... God ask us to love Him, and to love others as we love ourselves (Matthew 22:37-40). 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 tells us what love is!   Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud  or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.  Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

How do we know if we have shown love to another person in any given situation... we ask ourselves ... Was  I being patient?  Was I being kind? Was I being jealous? Was I being boastful? Was I being proud? Was I rude? Was I demanding my own way? Was I irritable? Did I keep a record of being wronged? Did I rejoice in injustice? Did I give up? Did I loose faith? Was I hopeful? Did I endure no matter what?

We can know how to change so much in our lives by asking ourselves these questions at the end of the day.  If our answer shows that we were not loving in any way we can start changing our actions...by making a plan of action, for the next time that situation arises, so that all our answers to all these questions reflect that we acted in love.

Love is not a feeling... love is a way of life.
