I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Proverbs 19:11 Good sense makes me restrain my anger, and it is my glory to over look a transgression or an offense.

My Thoughts
Glory is defined as "high renown or honor won by notable achievements." God thinks that we deserve honor...and that we have achieved something noble when we restrain our anger. It does not say here that we won't feel it... it tells us that when we do feel anger and we restrain that anger  that we have achieved something noble!  We store up riches in heaven by our good acts here on earth. When we restrain our anger we are storing up glory in heaven.

We have all heard that saying "No good deed goes unpunished." The devil loves to make us think just that... he also loves to entice us to anger.  When we do good God always notices even when people don't!  When we feel unnoticed by people we should really get excited that means that our reward for that good deed is stored up in heaven.... the rewards from God, to us for doing something good, must be amazing.

Next time you feel that anger rising up inside you... stop and think "If I don't act on this anger I am acting nobly."  Then turn and walk away, holding your shoulders up high... say "Thank you God that you know when I am doing my best."  Be aware that God does know...that awareness helps us be strong... that awareness helps release God's grace, that helps us to do better, in our lives.
