I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

2.17.10

Mark 2:16&17 But when the teachers of religious law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the tax collector and other sinners they asked his disciples, "why does he eat with such scum?"  When Jesus heard this he told them, "Healthy people don't need a doctor - sick people do.  I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners."

My Thoughts

Jesus didn't put values on sin...sin was sin was sin... so often people put values on sin... they forget that judging people is a sin... that gossip is a sin... that treating people unkind in anyway is a sin... when they see someone they know has committed a "huge" sin walk into the doors of the church they aren't welcoming, they arn't kind, they whisper and gossip... they act like they want their church to be Holy... we all need to remember that church is a hospital for sinners... all sinners... not a haven for saints... Jesus would be so sad to see us mistreat people that have walked though the doors of the church, to do better to be forgiven of their sin, in such a way they never come back... we need to treat everyone with kindness...and love... or we will never win them to God.
