I decided to start this blog (2010) because my son, John-Robert gave me a One Year Bible for Christmas, the New Living Translation... reading it has changed my life... I post a daily Bible verse on my Facebook page every day and it has been well received... I thought that this would be a wonderful way to share part of what I read each day!... I hope that you enjoy it.

This Year 2012 I am going to do things a little different... not much...just a little. I am again reading through my One Year Bible (for the 3rd time). But I am also using "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. This book is divided by putting scriptures under different categories so they can be used to speak over our life situations. Each day I will read a category of scripture and pick a scripture in that category to write about.

Hugs

3.14.14

Psalm 57:1b I will hide beneath the shadow of your wings until the danger passes by.

My Thoughts
When I read this it makes me smile. It actually makes a warm feeling engulf my body. I think if cold wind and rain, a storm coming and a mighty Eagle coming in to land, in all it's power, gently on the nest of it's babies. Surrounding those massive wings around those sweet babies where all they feel is warmth. I imagine too as they get a little older and are walking around outside the nest and a storm comes...they go running to their protector and snuggle in until trouble passes. They are not afraid once they get under the protection of those mighty wings.

So often we don't rest in the shadow of the wings of God when trouble comes. We have to peek our heads out and see if there is anything we can do. The the wind comes and sweeps us away. Sometimes so far it is hard to find our way back to God. We so must learn to be like the baby Eagles and rest in God's protection when trouble comes. Giving everything to Him...waiting for Him to open His wings and tell us that trouble has passed. I bet then the storm has passed for those baby Eagles they are all rested ready to go out again and enjoy the world. We can get ourselves in such a state that we are exhausted when the storm passes. When all we needed to do is rest in God while he looks after us.
